I love this game. Thank you for updating the basic version. Great work! Please make more.
I would love to see at least one more level; maybe a different enemy instead of the darkness or in addition to the darkness; maybe a different kind of terrain, like a desert or an island; maybe manage two "cities" at once on a split screen.
Unplayable. This game is designed so poorly that there is a 20-40 second delay between clicking and response on my laptop; 10-20 second delay playing on a desktop gaming computer.
Sorry! I didn't use memory efficient. Hope to do better with the sequel. You can maybe reduce lag by zooming out your browser. Click outside of the game screen and press CTRL - That is zoom out. To restore to normal zoom, use CTRL +
Unintuitive controls, no tutorial, repetitive 16-bit music, unbearably long levels requiring superhuman precision, simplistic visual style, impossible physics. This game made me want to punch a baby in the face. 5/5.
I recall another game having lag issues similar to this one. It was a kind of memory leak that was caused by levels persisting after they were finished. I think the dev needs to find a way to delete previous levels to make the game run smoother.
I love the concept, and this game has great potential. There is one EXTREMELY annoying aspect, though, and that is the constant forward movement during attacks. You could fix this in one of two ways: 1) stop moving forward with every attack; 2) when I am directly on top of an enemy, make my attacks land. Enemy attacks land on ME when THEY are directly on top of me. Why don't my attacks land? Stupid.
This is a great concept and a great mechanic. Unfortunately, it seems like the game is less about timing and problem-solving and more about replaying the levels over and over until you have memorized where the treasure and the baddies are. That part of the game is not fun. You could fix this with checkpoints, faster backward movement, or more hitpoints. Again, fun game, but if you want to go the "no upgrades" route, you have to be a bit more creative with the mechanics.
One of the best game designs I have ever seen, but very little dialogue, no plot worth mentioning, and very short. Would be better with more choices (think "choose your own adventure") and maybe a few puzzles.
