Near perfect until the last area, but the difficulty spike there is just too much. Even with maxed out upgrades, it's far, far too easy to get stunlocked and murdered in the space of two seconds by packs of zombies with rapid fire weapons.
GREAT game. Suggestion for the sequel though? Zombie radar as an upgrade or purchase of some sort. Would make the "find and kill the last two zombies" parts of missions a lot more tolerable.
I'm not even a soccer fan but I can't stop playing! Awesome to see the developer working to add suggestions and listen to player feedback, and improving the game so much. Makes an already great game even better.
I wish someone had warned me that the team I was transferring to was in the Special Olympics. Watching them just stand and stare as a perfect pass rolls past inches from their feet is getting old.
Storminb99, the third Monolith is tough, but there is a trick to it. Buy the highest level Charge you can, that makes it much, much easier. Once you get a sense for the timing of its attacks, you can dart in, release a fully charged shot on the green "eye", and get away without being hit pretty easily.
Absolutely the best game on Kongregate, almost definitely the best flash game anywhere...one of the best games I've played this year, period. The actual space combat gameplay is competent, as par with a good SNES era shooter, but the characters and the story put it leagues above anything else that would otherwise compare, and puts the majority of A-list console titles to shame. I want to see more, I'd gladly pay good money for it, and I hope someday you're working on bigger and better known games, or writing books, or anywhere else characters this wonderful can be created.
It's fun for a while, but just too repetitive. Put ballista on autofire, wait for mana to charge, upgrade until it's maxed. Upgrade all castle parts. Spam knights and cannons and win, unless the enemy decides to insta-summon 150+ high end units, in which case you pretty much have to just start over.
Definitely fun, my only complaint is that the AI isn't much of a challenge. It doesn't seem smart enough to pick tactically important cells over others, such as cells with reproduction boosts, etc. Usually it's happy to take other random cells and let you have the good ones, which makes it very easy to beat once those cells are in play.
"Chamber four unlocked!" And then the letters start to drop in. U...M...A.. (don't do it, don't do it, don't do it...) ...D.
Trolled by a flash game. Not a good start to a day =P
If your goal was to evoke those childhood dreams and adventures again, then you succeeded beyond measure. Absolutely beautiful, quite possibly my favorite flash game to date.
It's just so much fun to lose a battle because your robots spend the first half of it running into walls, then when they finally get near the enemy bot, they miss every single shot. Good game concept, but the AI turns it into absolutely infuriating crap.
This would be more fun if it wasn't based so much on luck. Every time I get over 100 seconds, I get half a dozen balls dropped together at one extreme end of the bar or another, and it's instant game over.
