Access the staff menu which is at the top of the game screen... The parameters of your staff will greatly affect how well they'll do their work for example you have a janitor that has high VIT(HEART) but his HYGIENE(MOP ICON) is low, in this case the employee can keep going for a long time but doesn't clean trash fast. Their shifts also affect their presence the next days... When you put a staff to BOTH(Day and Night shift) he'll (she'll) eventually tire out and get FATIGUE. In order to solve this you have to set a staff in only one shift (day or night) and you can hire another staff in the night shift. What I did with my staff was I hire 2 of each in every floor (One in the day and one in the night) and I assigned them their own floors in order to make sure they prioritize that floor (Useful on guards). You can assign them based on their stats.

How I play this game: SKIP TUTORIAL Mana cave until 20 SP (Skill Points) Train Health to 100 and Mana to 150 then train the two attack bolts evenly. Win the second battle Train again... Win the third battle Lose to messenger, choose either options for SP Get item for a bribe, you can still win the tournament train train... Go to tournament... Win win win win win... Forgive asassin, teach me how to torture... Either fight or give back the Mana Orb, you still have it if you lose the fight same way with winning Go to Ice Land, Be nice to beggar or else... Ice land, Explore wilderness, Praise Childream and Learn magic. Go to poison water, explore city or Dark alleys and find a powerful mage in a tavern, keep quiet, either watch him die or get antidote, kill him or make him terrified of you... Train... become Magic Master (Learn all Spells from Magic Master in Great Hall) If there are no events just go to arena and fight...

Oh... so entering Young Mage Contest, ranked 1 in the contest, have all spells upgraded, being Magic Master, ranked 1 on Book Of Mages, defeating a ton of people at the Great Sea War, Beating all the mages during the High Mage election, and being Mages of Mages is not notable? I should've burned anyone then.
