In case anyone gets stuck where I did, which was the fire; you need to get into the tent with the combo lock first. Yes the combo is mentioned in game. Your clue can be found not once, but twice, at the crossroads.
This has a lot of potential. I would love to see it finished and hopefully one day you'll get the chance. Reading some of the comments, one of your problems was file size; maybe splitting it up into chapters would help? Try looking into how pseudolonewolf did the Mardek games, since I'm sure you'd want the saves to carry over and they do there. Best of luck with your game-making!
I'd love to try this out, but unfortunately I've been having problems, but they seem to be a bit more serious than those of others. I'm on Win 7 and have tried with Chrome and Firefox, with the same result. As soon as I press start, everything goes black and moments later my entire laptop announces its defeat with a blue screen whose details I unfortunately haven't taken any notes about. Hopefully you can figure out what's going on. Otherwise, I'll have to declare this a pretty hideous difficulty curve!
This was a fun game. Thanks!
And for anyone who is stuck, try looking for answers to your questions in resources outside of the game; you'll certainly need to before you're done!
Since I went looking, here are some stats if you'd like to use them. Population density in Washington, DC, is about 4000 people per square km. About 30% of households in the US have a gun. The MPD has about 3,800 officers and Washington is 177 square km, which would be around 20 officers per square km, but the max here is 8, so go with that. I couldn't find any good stats out there for accuracy rates, but I did stumble upon a thread somewhere that suggested for cops between 10-15%, and that being in a high-adrenaline type of situation reduces accuracy. I went with 20% for cops and 10% for civilians, but unfortunately that's just a guess. So, hope that helps entertain you!
A, X, and D? Are you sure? That's rather awkward. Try A, S, and D instead. That's much more intuitive. Also I managed to accidentally enter the cave while trying to go talk to the guy outside it and when I exited I was stuck in that doorway, since he was in the way and I couldn't go back in. That's something you might want to look into.
I'm having issues. The first level won't end on its own, so I can't get stars for that, I can't call waves early, and nobody is dropping any gold. Maybe this is just me-specific, but it's weird. I'm using Chrome, if that helps any.
I found the hearts a bit hard to pick up. They required more accuracy than I'm used to. That's my only real complaint. It's a fun game! Sadly, I only got 86%, so the completionist in me is displeased, but we try not to listen to her too much.
Yes, I believe I've found your lost pet. Please come to the middle of the forest where you will inexplicably find a restaurant. My reward can be paid in the form of your indentured servitude at said restaurant. Have a nice day!
Many people have suggested that... but that's not how I want to do it.
