Had to downrate it just for level 25 that I cracked by head-banging on my mouse-pad. Not a hint of feedback when you try your guesses, so you end up solving certain sequences while trying others, which cuts off both the pleasure of finding AND the feedback for good guesses.
Deal-breaker :/
What happened?! This series used to be one of the best flash mini-RTS game I ever found... And now? No significant evolution of gameplay, graphic, mechanics. A loss of performance that turns into a game-wrecking nuisance. A sell-out that doesn't even try to hide itself (I'm not talking of a "Your using our website" achievement; it is basically ONE THIRD of the achievements!). And, to top it all, no real new content in this new opus. I'll give it a 2/5. One star out of pity for this game, one out of pity for the series.
I absolutly agree with precedent statings : this is a total rip off... Rubik's cube...
Seriously, after a few minutes looking at the mechanics, where could you fine any similarities (except the character's graphics, that could be an easter egg) ?
Where is gone the key mechanic of distorting perspective in order to close/create gaps ? The blur between foreground and background that turned a hole in a platform ?
And, if this game is nothing but a clone, why adding a new mechanic : the go-up-go-left/right, that turns what was once vertical into horizontal ?
Because Fez is a puzzle-like exploring platform game and BOX! is a 3D puzzle game.

...
Even though they play on the same idea (distorting perspective, 2D-3D), their goal is different and they use what is common to both in a very different way : in Fez, every object does exist whatever perspective you are in. This means each object (aka the game's universe) is supposed as having a personnal "existence". Here, each face is separated, as long as every time you change face, it turns 1D and you can't interact with it anymore, and exist only in order to be a key/trap on your way to the door. Hence, faces are not part of a virtual universe, but parts of a puzzle.

As for the character, Fez is a part of the universe he is in, so he gets a name, goal, dialogue, story (even though it is sketchy). Here, your character does not exist out of being the "what" you have a challenge with ; it could have been a ball (and you would have said it was a rip off Marble...).
So, to conclude...
Argue not on what looks like, but on what is like. Minor difference can give an entire different (even opposite) meaning.
Does the two games look like ? Yes. I suspect devs to have been inspired by Fez. Are they the same ? Well... chocolate cake and burnt cake quite look the same. I guess you could easily tell the difference...
Badge get ! Finnally ! What an amazing gae : it is simply reinventing the tossing with this team management system, great ambiance, funny atmosphere and so on... Moreover, it has a real level of challenge ! Insta 4/5 ... ... ... ... ... Still i guess why money is given so slowly. OH ! LOOK OVER THERE ! A real-money system ! No way I give money to a toss game, sorry. Finnally, the so-called "challenge" is nothing but a "give-me-your-cash" grinding. 4/5 -> 2/5 (and I am generous...) The more I play this game, the more I agree with The Geek...
So full of bugs, so noob-unfriendly, so boring, so "wrong-key"-ed that, for the first time on kongregate, I award one single star (and I am asking myself if it is not too much...).
Funny game. Alas the 35+ were more about pointing the very pixel than solving a physic puzzle. Lost of 1 stars for my headache... (gonna close my eyes, now...) 3/5
Going for the Inception ; first high score : 116s. ... ... ... "And in Fear Less! 2, that young lady will go HUNTING THOSE F**KING RABBOTS ! ... With a bazooka !"
That's annoying, did you tried with lower quality settings?
