Wow this is really good. Very challenging, especially the bosses. The lack of upgrade points force you to decide more carefully, but at the same time amount of upgrades are always second to skill level since there aren't too many. The shift key to slow down your ship adds some much needed precision to this kind of game, and the bosses are fantastic. Well done, I wouldn't change a thing!
The upgrades were too strong... The higher levels became all about having enough upgrades to beat them. I just feel like it made the upgrades too necessary, so it added a time spent component that took a lot of fun out of it.
I'm a bit disappointed that it's a much easier game to beat if you confine yourself to rather short words rather than using longer words all the time, because the blanks don't do enough damage compared to the iron letters... It's more about efficiency, so using short words quickly is the way to go, but it's just not nearly as fun that way.
To anyone who can't beat The End: the trick is to make constant hobbits since The End's attack is slow and prevents it from moving. Along with the hobbits, ONLY make angels, and that way you have a constant supply of angels. Don't make a dragon unless you have 6500 or more mana when you can make an angel. I beat The End this way and it didn't even get close to within striking distance of my castle. Oh and fire lots of arrows of course.
I think that the gameplay was lacking because the point was to make it all about upgrading until the end even if it means you have to trudge through rather boring gameplay. It looked and sounded decent, but with enemies that can't hurt you and no penalty for "losing," as well as two of the three weapons automatically aiming and the magnet to automatically get coins for you, the core gameplay is essentially holding down the space bar... That said, the final game over screen was pretty awesome though.
Awesome game. I just wish it was a bit longer. The game looked really great, and the sound and music were both spot on. The jump drive created a really cool way to get around, into, or (most often) out of a fight. On a side note, excellent badge names as well.
Rube Goldberg machines were based on completing a simple task with an overly complicated machine, so from what I've noticed in this game, you get more points for creating a solution that takes a long time to work, rather than an efficient solution with a minimal number of parts.
I liked the idea of the white circles, it was an improvement on point and click in my opinion, but the puzzles were actually pretty easy. It seemed almost more like an animation than a game, but on that note it looks really good.
This game is great! I wouldn't change a thing about it, except maybe making the jumping controls work a bit better on any non-flat surfaces... But other than that the music and the color (or lack thereof) make a very creepy atmosphere, and I see in the later levels that the slow movement is what makes the puzzles possible, so anyone who complains about that clearly hasn't been too far in the game... Anyway this was an amazing and innovative puzzle game that looks really good.
