@orokusaki I think that's the case. If you imagine white as the opposing team then it makes sense that they can only advance downwards on a regular chess board. The game is staying faithful to what the actual moves on a chessboard should look like. If there's a sequel, I wonder if they'll include castling for a future boss fight...
A very nice game. Requires some creative thinking to solve and complete. My only gripe is that I had to find out on my own that standing on arrow tiles didn't prevent you from going back to the previous tile you were in. A level editor to share stages in multiplayer would be an amazing feature.
Random thought, but this game reminds me of when I was young and looking for my parents when I got lost. "Daddy Where Are You???" seems to perfectly fit the situation.
This ridiculous energy system needs to be less restricting. 5 energy? Really? At all levels? At least make it + 0.5 per level after level 5 or something.
I knew that song is familiar. The battle theme is the same as used in the game Epic War 5. Go ahead thumb this down. I know how this works. Or go the other way just to make sure it isn't so.
Noticeable balance issues with the stats.Ranged weapons require too much ammo in order to be of any use. Not only do they take up space in your inventory, they also require LOTS of ammo to do anything significant. Whereas, everything else is immediately useful to boost stats.
I'm glad you made an emotional connection with it. My job is done.
