Edit: Sound settings saved, but if that's what the javelin throw sounds like with master volume at 10%, then I shudder to think of how loud it must be at 100.
Well isn't that awful. I bought a couple of researches, then went offline. I come back to find an update. Not only have the prices of the researches increased, the purchases that were being researched got canceled without a refund.
@dj flash - Actions like bind codex and sublimate knowledge will reduce your maximum research *temporarily* because they consume other sources of max research. Once you replenish the scrolls and codices that you used to perform those actions, you'll wind up having a net gain.
Game doesn't properly acquire focus. I can use the arrow keys to navigate but they also scroll the page.
WASD is more comfortable anyway, but they're already bound and the game doesn't unbind them when you bind them to something else. I can do that manually, but you might want to keep that in mind.
@SomeLame: Tai Chi is not going to heal a physical ailment, but it's still a martial art and a form of exercise. Give it the slim credit it's due; it's not used wrongly here.
Tai-chi stimulates organs and blood flow and can support the healing process though it should mostly be used for preventive purpose.
That said, it's all in good humour and should be taken lightly in the context of this game! :D
Using punching as primary motion, I managed to bring my days to completion down to 41. Better is certainly possible. You can't get through it without points in running because running improves your jump distance, so eventually it becomes necessary. Still, just barely punched my way across the finish line for both cakes.
Simple platformer. Well-made for a work by a lone 15 year old, with good field of view and tight controls. Doesn't really innovate by level 3, so if it picks up later, it should be paced earlier. Seems a fair jumping off point for making something more complicated in your next work.
A criticism: In (at least some) sections with moving platforms that constitute a time limit - the ones that move when you land on them and put themselves away, so you only have a brief time - there are ways up to catch yourself if you fall. But the time limit is such that if you ever use one of the ways up, you've already failed the entire puzzle, so the way up is just a waste of time compared to restarting from checkpoint.
Thanks for your testing!
The game runs 60 fps, and I want those or nothing.
I've optimized it a lot to be sure that it goes smooth on any device (i'm developing this game on a crappy pc myself, and I made sure it could run even on my old smartphone).
You can check the FPS by pressing F1. Also people would notice if it goes slower because if it really does there would be major differences in the game speed by entering bigger maps, but as expected I had no reports of that happening.
Can this at least be appreciated? I mean, try launching any game with cpukiller... or search for other browser games running at this framerate.
Sorry if I sound arrogant, but I did put lot of effort by coding this game from scratch (no engines) so that it wouldn't be just another bloated software. In the future I could implement the delta time to make sure it runs at the same speed despite different framerates, but that's lot of work so be patient please :c
I agree with the others. There's potential here, but it's not there yet. Can't fire diagonally so your ability to aim is far less than your enemies'. Uncertain of my max rate of fire. Needs tweaking, needs more, but there's a foundation.
I guess you are unlucky, with max upgrades theres a 60% chance to obtain 4x your RP.
