I'd like to see the game involve the enviroment some more, aside from the random shaking there was no real foe. I didn't like the popping spikes, to me they seemed like a gimmick. I'd rather see some more cinematic flair, for example after scaling the giant and about to stab in the sword, it begins to fall apart. As the back of the seahorse (for example) falls apart, you need to climb your way up the falling pieces in mid-air, and then make a flying leap to stab the sword in. That's just one example of a way to get the adrenaline pumping when you play the game, to really give it a scope. Aside from that and the slow, slow water sequences, it was an enjoyable game. 5/5 for being different without being depressing.
Pete was in a coma, in this game you are exploring his subconscious and trying to find the 'trigger' to wake him up. I feel like it can be expanded upon, the imagery should relate more tightly than it currently does. What does the worm represent? The red fruit? The only part that made sense was the song that was one of the triggers to wake him up. The doorbell represents him crossing through the door to the 'other side' (out of his coma-world).
I think what makes this TD so well-liked is the simplicity of it. It doesn't have a complicated concept or interface, but the skills make it well-rounded and fun to continue playing. I would like to see some even harder achievements, since I'd love to go for an impossible badge..maybe a wave mode?
Obstsalat deck works for every challenge except the last two. For the second-last, stock up on 5 Medics to stay alive. For the last one, add every since Red card possible, and just stay alive long enough for the opponent to run out of cards (she has 35, you have 60).

Excellent game. The game speed sometimes felt like a challenge but after using the rewind a few times you become a pro, dodging through rewinds whenever you know you messed up. 4/5, the game felt like it lacked depth and originality when it came to the story.
This game is impossible to play. I have tried twice now to finish the beginner badge and am unable to play on my laptop. It is not a state-of-the-art laptop with 1 GB of RAM, but if I can play CounterStrike 1.6, I should be able to play this. The lack of quality control really ruins the experience, I am unable to fast-forward, rounds randomly start, and I cannot do ANYTHING while the round is in progress. All my actions are about 5 seconds behind when I actually do them, and it leads to balloons escaping because I cannot place spikes during a round, only beforehand. Either the code is so inefficient that it's causing this, or it's background loading all the 'BUY KREDS' messages.
3/5, although it's a good satirical concept, it's far too boring to get a high rating. Sure, you can upgrade your graphics and everything else in the game, but what's the point when you know you just have to re-do a level a couple of times to get enough money to upgrade so you can do another level so you can get money to upgrade so you can do another level...
Zainaku, I used dual gem until I got pure gem mastery, it's a viable option but the problem is your abilities are reduced, this isn't a problem with some (armor reduction can be scrapped), but things like chain hit require high percentages to be useful, who wants a tiny splash or 3% chance to shock?
Demonwolf it's not as obvious as it sounds, lots of people combine gems just for the mixed abilities, but particularly in this version of GemCraft, combining low level with high level will let you easily win with minimum effort.
How to breeze through most levels: Get Pure Gem Mastery as high as possible. Then when the level starts, let's say you can have fire, chain and cold towers. Build level 2 (square) gems and put one of each in the towers. If you get doubles, combine them. KEEP BUILDING SQUARES UNTIL YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO HAVE LEVEL 3 OF EACH GEM. If you have 2 level 3 gems and 1 level 2 gem, keep building level 2, combining any extras into the level 3 gems. Once all gems are level 3, start building level 3 gems, and continue this! Combine low level gems into your high level gems and you'll be doing 300 damage, huge range and fast attack by level 6 gems!
