Great game but when I clicked on the extra content at the end of the pre-underworld levels, it took me to a separate webpage and erased my data for the game, so I had to do the levels over again (it was really easy the second time, but still). Please, do not click on extra content until you've finished the underworld levels etc.
Otherwise great game and a lot of fun.
Some great guides out there. The one that consistently got me close(st) was Ranger with Runner and Faithful friend. The dog ends up being quite powerful later on. I would also recommend any skills that would prolong your dog's life (aka turns), such as "slow" (which would give baddies fewer turns as well, it seems?) or "sleep" (even better). Having both is fantastic. If you also have teleport/fireball, you should be set; the rest is RNG. Don't bother w/ fear, imo; too unreliable for this purpose. Definitely treat it as a time-run. 5min per area, tops, and even less for later areas. After basement, the next 3 levels are tough. Final room and boss are very easy, so all you need to do is just make it there.
Need Legion in a big way for the impossible badge; particularly helped me with the superbosses (gemsplosion was simply fantastic on Animus and the ultimate damage dealer for me there). I found it quite difficult, even at a high level, but I also did not focus so much on developing the characters to their max potential against certain bosses (which is why Legion was such a superstar late game; I strongly suggest you research him). If you're out to get Monster Fangs, what I did was I equipped a Lucky Coin and just grinded. It gives + to drop chance. Still took a while, but it was worth it and worth the headache with Mereador for the solo run using drill and flamethrower. There are lots of guides out there so I suggest to check them out. They helped me immensely.
That was such a great game. I loved all 3 chapters and this one is no exception. So dirty in some places though :p but it's honest at the same time haha. When leveling others in the Citadel, keep Legion around.
120 w/ ~2100. Not if but when. You get better w/ time and sometimes lucky. 30 hours and 104k beams and 4k deaths later finally done. Over When I'd take a break, I'd do the levels casually, one at a time. Sometimes I'd beat a score on a level that is less popular, because every little bit helps and slowly things would move up. The 100+ levels I found often daunting and I'd get nervous so I just did my best and once I reached my old record I'd try to concentrate and hang in there as long as I could and a few times it paid off. Light scores (90+): 1=116, 2= 93, 3=119, 4= 90, 5=132, 6=124, 8=102, 12=116, 13=99, 15=90 Dark (75+): 6=75, 8=86, 9=81, 12=136, 14=75, 19=84
Take your time lol It's sadistic but lovely at the same time.
Really intense game. I had fun!
The ending really was a button-mash fest for that hard badge. I got around 15,000 then 19000 twice in a row before getting 21k. My poor arm lol.
Yeah it really is unfortunate that the developers can't lower quality with this game.
One thing I might suggest to remove some of the lag for the survival mode, don't select 2x gold (I am guessing you'd be maxed out by then with plenty of gems as well, so it's probably not a huge deal). Good luck @_@
Finally. After weeks of trying. Ended up so many times on the last gauntlet level and just got decimated. What really helped is yes, definitely lots of cantrips and shields.
Also knowing exit strategy. Thinking ahead. Sometimes it's best to reposition and not risk it. You can see what chess pieces you'll likely be getting. Better safe than sorry though.
Gauntlet is not about being fast, as someone mentioned. Do first level in 1 turn, 2nd level in 2 turns, and don't lose life for levels 1-7 ideally.
Always use cantrips up first. If you use another piece, you'll only have 1 piece at play instead of two. The more you move, the more shields you can accumulate over time as well, which could save you. Yes, some RNG here, but still. Last level, when planning, put mouse button over various tiles and go for the one that'll damage you least. You can plan how to get to the safe spot from which to launch your next attack. Good luck guys.
By end of lvl 1, had 33-35k (get 5x multiplier asap). By end of 6, 245k-250k. By end of 7, 299k. By end of 8, 335k-350k. By end of 9, 380k-385k. Finished @ 411k. I did not maintain 5x the entire time (even went as low as 2x once)==== If @ 4x or lower, doing a dive or hitting bird sooner and with more impact will give you faster happiness boost and distance than continuing to glide/slow descent. In other words, the earlier you BEGIN your dive the bigger/faster/sooner your critter will hit the hill/bird for happiness boost, and … the more ground they will cover faster. Then you are more on a roll and can adjust your control with the momentum you gain. For example, you can start to wait until you're closer/poised for the hill/target you want and then dive. But making these big dives can make a big difference in the later levels, particularly the last 2.
Last tip is don't overuse glide. Just tap it a little bit for adjusting. Best to go for the hill in your trajectory or the easiest.
1. Know each section, how to beat it and diamond/enemy + behaviour/timing/positions of dissolving/blinking blocks. YouTube helped to see what's coming and what is safe to go for.
2. Use items wisely.
SHIELDS AND SKULLS: There were times I would just get an enemy (the ladder ones) even though I knew I can get past them without it. And then I found myself helpless soon after. Nothing beats just knowing how to pass without using items, but I'm not that good.
TIME STOP: for white diamonds or freeze blue platforms to get white diamond AND an item.
GEM MAGNET: when time is against you or with diamonds out of reach/item is in reach, so can get replacement item. just an example.
5. May work. I played a 9min vid. By the end I was at around 300k. I replayed it and that's that.
For the hard badge:
Day 1:
-Max out engine/transmission/wheels, and then spend the remaining $1,000 on fuel.
1) only accelerate at the bottom of hills when going down & all the way up the hills when going up, and 2) tilt/aim your car so that the zombies hit the front wheel.
For Day 2:
-max out fuel & get boost (and put as much $ into it as possible)
1) Do the same thing as in Day 1 only when you reach an incline at good speed, boost yourself off.
For Day 3:
-get boost up to around level 7, and get the gun up to level 6 or 7.
Use up all your boost on one of the inclines. It's a little bit like the luck of the draw, but doing the above method I got just under 1,100 feet.
Finally got the Impossible Badge. I spent more time on the *last fighting level* of Original mode than Insane mode + the rest of the original mode levels COMBINED. Man that was frustrating, but so, so, so rewarding lol
