However, as I said before, you should be great with this CPU with the normal speed).

CPU: Intel i5-2500k Sandy Bridge Quad-Core (3.3Ghz, 3.7Ghz in Turbo Mode) ($200) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072) (Note – the “2500” in the title of the CPU is just really for purposes of identification, while the “K” indicates that it is easier to overclock compared to other CPUs which don’t have that K. The “turbo mode” I mentioned runs automatically – however, the 3.7Ghz denotes the maximum speed turbo mode will run at. Turbo mode will lower its speed if the CPU gets too hot, which should only happen if you have inadequate cooling.)

RAM: 8GB/16GB ($45/$90) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345) (Note: If you get a 32-bit operating system instead of a 64-bit one, your computer cannot support more than 4GB of RAM.) (Note: That motherboard I had linked to you came with four slots to put RAM sticks into. This product will give you two sticks of RAM (4GB each) for each order. 8GB should be more than enough for you, but it’s cheap either way.)

You’ll also need a cool case and cooling system. You’ll also need thermal paste. You’ll also need 1080p monitor if you want to take advantage of games which display in full HD.

I’ll take a look around for that stuff and follow up with this shout. Thermal paste is generally cheap and comes in a little tube, and your dad might have some already.
