Wish this didn't have so many battles on the same map it gets repetitive. Some side missions would have been cool, and if the art style had taken itself more seriously given the content, but fine job overall.
I'm not trolling, I asked one question and gave my opinion on the game on my first post. That's totally within the rules of the site. After that I simply reply to the comments made on my post again within the rules of the site. I troll would be bashing the hell out of the game and posting unrelated stuff to spam the page, none of anything I've done. I've actually shown lots of restraint and not rip on this game's fault too hard. If you set this in front of a major review site they would tear this game apart for the many lacks that I listed and far more I din't feel that this is the place to get into them. If you can't take criticism on your games then you are in the wrong industry! Also, I never said the game was plagiarism I said it bordered on it. The original game uses parts of WOW that was made by a team of people. This game is a copy of that and not original like you claim on the other post.
So after the last comment ( and a slow day at work) I tested the statement that I would not be able to make it past level 10 and after picking my person at random I got to level 14 with no issue (http://postimg.org/image/91x8huudp/) by only pushing one button, so that was a fact. I didn't even need 10 min to figure this game out it's very simple. I also would never give a game with no story, sound, visual appeal, or gameplay at 5 stars. That bet came from some of the other comments like xANBUx, and Blackice01. The game is also not in any way original like you claim and a rip off of the original GrindQuest, and borders on plagiarism as you are making a profit from it being on this site. As for the other comments again I'm not trying to change your personal opinion on the game. IF you like it fine, but giving players item that in the end doesn't change anything is not a choice or gameplay. Who cares how long it takes to get from point A to B. It's the experiences that are important.
I'm not asking for anyone to to argue why "I" should like the game. I'm asking what the apeal was for the people that like it. As I honestly didn't understand why anyone would bother with this game at all. And the all you have to do in the game is push one button, you are not 'playing' anyting. There is no balance or strategic decisions or consequences to be made. Also, some of the rating I bet are from the statment on gold and that's shaddy.
The classes, abilities, raiding and dungeons require balance. If you press 1 button you won't get passed level 10. If you make poor strategic decisions you'll take much much longer to reach the end, and when you get there you won't be able to beat the raid bosses or bg. If you played the game for more than 10 minutes you would realize some of this. The 'tip' about gold is a joke, which clearly went over your head and makes me think that probably the other humor has too. There is no way it effected the rating of the game in anyway when thousands of people have rated it. In short, everything you just said is incorrect. You seem to be using your dislike of the style of the game to generate facts to support your opinion.
If you don't like it, that's fine, you don't need to support your opinion, you are entitled to it, but do not spread misinformation.
I could understand that fully in indie games that try and don't achieve but it does not feel like any effort was even given. I could also get it if this game had some kind of great story to it and it took away the grind so people could enjoy it, but I don't see any of that. I do now remember playing another idle game on here, and check a few others out and while the visuals on some are worse yet, they seem to be more about joke games and not taking them self as seriously as the people here. I also remember as a kid playing the original Super Mario RPG, and finding a spot with a turbo controller that I could set it to just mash A and then going to bed and waking up and gain a ton of levels, but that was after I finished the game and just wanted to see some of the story again. From that point on I played the game like normal. So again I get the whole idle genre, but not this game and how so many people could enjoy it, but again thanks for the reply and explaining what your game is about.
I disagree with the dismissal of my game as bad design/no effort. It offers humor, balance, strategic decisions with consequence, achievement with low time investment, depth, nastalgia and is something a little different than anything else out there. If none of those things appeal, then again the game may not be for you, but that does not mean that its bad or that no one else should like it. Sound, graphics and story are all solid aspects of what some games are, but not this one. I made it just cuz I like it and I thought others might too, games as art not business. I think games should be rated on how well they represent what they are trying to be, not how well they fit the specifics of what I like in a game.
I'm pretty sure if it was just no effort/bad design, no one would like it, there is surely something here to enjoy, it's just a question of whether you happen to.
@ABRA24. Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to start a flame war just get a better understanding for this game. I've been playing games for many years and played almost all types of games, and rpg games are my favorite genre. I get the whole "I hate the grind part" some people have and the reason why someone would say I wish it would fight all this stuff for me part, but for me the fun comes from enjoying the story and being able to interact with the world. Seeing the progression of my player and the hard work and time I've spent building them up. Coming up with a battle plan that will not only let me win a fight with my current skill set, but also winning without losing a member of my team. I don't think the only fun of games is the gameplay factor. Sound, story, and visuals play a huge role in games, and this game is lacking in all of them. I know you state that it has no sound and the visuals are sub par, but that just seems like bad game design. If it was a technical limit.
better then some, and I could have got into it if lest had more types to fight and didn't restart. Also, if you are going to say it's a high score hut then the game should show a score.
No it's just dumb game, and I checked the tag and never seen one likes this. I'm honestly asking what could the appeal possibly be in this game? It seems very pointless, but somehow it made it into the top games of the month, so of course it's going to get a lot of new clicks.
Maybe the misunderstanding comes from the idea that you aren't supposed to sit in front of it the whole time it runs. You guide, streamline, macro manage and then let it run. The goal is to gain levels and accomplish achievements efficiently and effectively. The drive to improve your character is what drives almost all RPGs, whether you are forced to click the abilities or whether you just set the longer term strategy. It's also a bit of a parody of all other RPGs, that sometimes seem to have even fewer meaningful decisions than this game does, but require a bigger time investment from the player who has to be there the whole time. The 'point' as with all games is to have fun, lot's of people find this fun, myself included. It may not be for you though if you have no interest in anything I've mentioned.
Am I missing something, as so far this is one of the worse games I've ever played. You don't do anything but click one action and it auto fights. No thought needed at all. And it does not even look good...wow.
Great demo, I like the game a lot. However, while the music is great the battle theme seems a little too upbeat for when they are fighting for survival. Also, the buying modes I tried ( PayPal, Google checkout, Amazon) didn't work, so I did make a yes vote on steam green light and if it hits that I'll totally be buying the full version soon as it's available.
Glad you like the game! Thanks for the vote on Greenlight as well. :)
Sorry about the purchasing problems. If you have a moment can you send an email to hello@lostdecadegames.com and let us know what went wrong? I'd love to make sure the direct purchases are working for you. Thanks again!
Like most of the text more than one answer would work, but of course they only take the one real that they want. Anyways good game, I liked that it had some story in the mix not just random test. The controls on some of the walking puzzles pissed me off as I didn't mean to go over and would hit a wrong block so I'd rather have him jump and only do one at a time or something, but whatever thanks not a huge deal if you get a lower score and lest you can't get stuck in the game really as you can keep guessing til you get it.
I'm sorry. It takes pretty long to make the paths and hook them together. I update every Saturday, so I'm sorry that it's too short.
