Pretty good game overall, but after a little bit the mercs dish waaay more damage than you can (the guy with the fire spear and then Viegraff especially, waaay OP) so the only thing to do with your character is to tank/load up on AP. Which is a bit strange, I don't really like that the only character you can manage is more or less forced into a support role. Still entertaining though!
Is flanking under-powered? It seemed to me like besides the one-time attack when you move your troops into that position, you don't get any bonus, because the enemy attacks and defends against both units just as powerfully as before. Pretty unrealistic, but maybe it'd be too powerful with more bonuses given the enemy AI?
Yeah, stacking of slow effect and poison is OP... The only thing that even approaches being difficult is the last 3v1 fight before the boss. Also extremely linear, and there's no point to using normal attacks because spells are so much more powerful and MP is so easy to regain... All you do is poison, nuke, use ramei for single targets, and heal pretty much the whole game. Needs some mixing up/balancing so you have to change strategy every once and a while!
definitely needs more balancing. I noticed you supposedly "nerfed" the assassin, but I still went to lvl 150 when all I had was the lvl 1 assassin book, then got bored and it took me 6 levels to try and die by selling all my gear, running over all the traps, and letting the ranged monsters drain me. If you can't get the balance right at high levels, just make an end to the game. Very fun idea though, if you rework it so you actually have to make several runs before reaching the goal of maybe lvl 150 or 200 or something, and so the gameplay is a bit more tactical with spells and whatnot it could be fantastic!
hey, does the game ever get difficult at all? Because a few hours in it seems like the only thing that would possibly be an issue would be taking on a really big dungeon in one go and running out of pots/mana to heal, so it's kind of boring me...
Yeah, strategy definitely could play a bigger role; now I feel like it's just about mobbing with as many units as fast as you can, I'd slow it down a bit, make the units more controllable, and make the levels less linear in the sequel!
ranged units are way overpowered, I ended up only using the ranger and only using the king for his extra action skill, sounds like you can do the same even easier with the mage. Hopefully this'll get fixed in the next chapter so you have to use a balance of characters, but still a really entertaining game!
solid game, but why is the "insane" last level easier than any of the "very hard" ones...? I guess it depends on playing style, but you might nerf the lichs a bit to make things a little more interesting
any1 else on the third or fourth island with a quest: "Kill Legendary Rhino in level 2 of Carde", but no dungeon called Carde? bein' able to spam skills on top of normal attacks makes this game way too easy, but would still be kinda fun if the quests worked...
some of the battles are kinda drawn out: if I have a swap-out strategy and am hitting the enemy with a strong creature w/ a super-effective attack, I shouldn't have to repeat it so much (like w/ the shadowy tiger thing near the end), but still a pretty tight game, just got boring due to that problem at the end
agreed on the too easy, if you just use poison wave (adds 10 poison)+paralyze (which needs 7 poison points on the, and cancels their attack) they can't hit you... at least not so far (yr 215 month 5)
daggertooth, do u use google chrome on incognito, cuz i had a similar thing happen to me, try re-loading on a normal tab, cuz i think incognito doesn't let the site access the save files or sumthin
not too good, couldnt find the way to continue that the instructions told about, so i have started from beginning multiple times, wouldnt recommend it...
