She didn't know this, the Christina cycle is never ending
Troy is supposed to be used to explain the travel, so ignore him
Steve, goes through and stuff, he gets back in time to relive it
STEVE IS TROY
So yeah, Steve is Steve, but he was put into Troy's body
Christina goes through, she gets to her daughter's body
Lionel goes through, he explains the travel to you

The idea of the credits level is that, he keeps trying to reach her, not realizing he had already turned her to gold, if he touches her though SHE'LL LIVE, since he's water, so when he becomes water he'll save her if he touches her, and become gold, but he can't reach her because it's a neverending cycle, this is represented by you trying every time but failing... did I get it right Mr.Wander?
The idea is that he's done this before, he keeps going back, that's why it's familiar to him, he's done it so many times and will never recieve an answer, pretty crazy and good story... more games LIKE THIS!
at the very end *SPOILERS SPOILERS* when you escape and the boat stops you hear a growling and that growling is actually beth infected from her bite :3
@angel i agree though the idea is that it's murder but its her wish and he loved her so much he killed her so she would be happy and so he could continue... also @eprodigy the left is like her life is beggining to loosen up and become more random and bad and then downwards is meaning that she thinks its okay but sinks lower to do better and then right means that she realizes to do better go the RIGHT way
A cool idea is that William died but as a final act to save you when you wake in the field the are actually Fey and you find a boy who has lost his memory and you can ruin him and make him forget all or bring his memory back and save him and you discover that boy is you at the end when you hear him say I will not stay
I enjoy how he realizes in the end that *spoilers* he could run away from her forever and lose the love of his life (if you dodge her whole time) or he can realize that if she can't be human... then why can't he be zombie then he lets her bite him and he become infected and they forever live together
