Sweet baby jesus I finally got that impossible badge. I can echo @Marvaddin's advice to play the levels you're good at. I got 47 less than the dev's score on Chroma Zones, but 47 more than the dev in Fading Lines. And I'll add that it helps to proactively take out beams instead of letting them come to you.
It seems to me like each of the lists (achievements, upgrades...) are designed to go from top to bottom in one big scroll. This is fine for the managers tab but a headache for the achievements tab. You should change the "scrolling speed" so that it is consistent among the lists.
This would be awesome with audio commentary: "Lieutenant, you're the best pilot we got, we're sending you in with a dozen other choppers and air support" "No sir, I'll take our best gunship and kill it myself" "No, we don't have any heavy ground support!" "I'll shoot everything out of the sky!" "Dammit! Send all our lightweight vehicles! GO! GO! GO!"
