Uh... That's... not supposed to happen. I don't know why, how, or anything like that, but I just finished a round of climbing training, at which point, well... It said I had maxed out my climbing rank... at 255... and then this showed up. You set a high score in DuckLife3: Evolution
566,569 Climbing Level
I don't know what the heck just happened. Though somebody might want to take that score off the leaderboard...
So... this game has been out for two years and change. Two years ago, I paid for the bonus stuff, expecting three bonus levels, along with all the other things. There still isn't a second additional bonus level, much less a third. We were told there would be three. Finish your damn game.
So... A guy was on the base... in melee range... and in order to use my rifle instead of a crappy knife, I jumped a space aw-MISSION FAILED THEY TOOK THE BASE! ... NO THEY DIDN'T!
... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF... The time it takes for the game to complete and give you a score is more than half a second. I connected the last dot at ~119.5
... My score is 120.04
I hate this.
You know, normally, with a series that has this many different games out, I've gotten tired of it, and I've come to hate the series. There are a rare few, however, that have enough new ideas while preserving enough of the old and had a good enough concept to begin with that I always enjoy them. Creeper World is one of the few I always enjoy. They've always got the same basic concept (fight back the creeper!), but there's practically always some kind of new tactic, weird strategy, or else SOMETHING to keep you interested, and I never feel like they're taking advantage of my loyalty either. I like that. Creeper World RULES!
Hey, everybody? Shot power: 30. Energy: 10. Fire rate: 2.3. Area: None. Homing: 24. Total cost: 1k. Pack on as many as you can with your current energy regen and circlestrafe until everything dies.
This game is terrible. The combat is stupidly repetitive and boring, as is... well, just about every other aspect of it. The ONLY reason that I completed it is the hard badge, and even then I struggled to convince myself it was worth finishing. I even looked around desperately for anything interesting or fun buried in it, and no, this is just the same sad bits of the billion other games using the same character designs and the same dungeon crawling and the same animations and the same same same same same. There isn't even a chance of the story redeeming it, because not only is it a 'parody' storyline, it's not funny. 1/5 because 0/5 doesn't exist and I have to lower this game's score somehow.
Hey, programmer? This is a great game, but I have one major issue. That would be: The grab arrows. I finally unlocked the last master, bought the grab arrows, and, after some work, got myself an orc the size of a house! ... And then, two levels later, I did a mission where I was defending using the tower's turrets. It marked my massive orc murderkiller as dead. I thought oh, sure, but he won't be dead next level! ... I was wrong. He was dead dead. Gone. I have to re-find and re-catch my house of pain.
The completely random thrust distance is an absolute murder for this game. Sometimes I'll thrust towards point x, and launch past there and wind up in front of an arrow that I was SURE I wouldn't get anywhere near. Sometimes I'll thrust extra short and get stabbed in the face by the guy I was trying to kill. Or the shot I was trying to slash. It's, so far as I can tell, completely random, and absolutely ruins the game.
This game is utterly and completely TERRIBLE. Aside from the all-too-simplistic and boring combat, the completely unfair and frankly stupid ranged attackers in sudden death matches, the inability to disable autopausing for the AI vs AI matches (Seriously, what the heck else are we gonna do? Watch the whole five minute stupid-fest?!), there's the ally AI. You can make a game with stupid enemy AI. You can make a game with stupid ally AI. You can make a game with both! And those can all be good! But it will NOT be good EVER if you have absolutely retarded allies and enemies fighting each other with NO PLAYER INTERACTION WHATSOEVER. All I can do is level them, buff them, and then watch as they fail HORRIBLY AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND WASTE MY BUFF MONEY. 0/5, not even bothering with the freaking final boss (who, from the comments, seems impossible as well!), and I hope this game is purged from reality with hellfire.
Honestly, this is a ridiculous game. With the class size/gun point issue, it becomes utterly simple to make a godly tank. Ones you've got your absolute maximum of twelve points... basically, just use all of them on a class 1 and use absolutely no bubbles aside from that. I had four 5-spreaders in a square and was the god of death. That's just a little bit ridiculous, don't you think?
I gotta say, some of this makes absolutely no sense. Something that seriously needs fixing: My defender is using protect, meaning my mage is NOT getting hit by attacks... Except she still gets stunned, or poisoned, or whatever status effect. Why the heck is she getting stunned when she didn't get hit?! The defender should get stunned, leaving my mage free to continue kicking butt!
Protect, is a spell that saves the target of damage taken... NOT of statuses, so your mage will be stuned/silenced/bashed... however... if poisoned or burned... think that the burn and fire damage will be deal to your shielder.
My god, I haven't had this much fun with a simple hack and slash style game in a LONG time. Though to say it's a 'simple hack and slash' style game is a bit of an insult to this game! It takes a while to get used to and all that, but when you're fighting through one THOUSAND enemies for the hard badge (Or even fighting the final boss), with everything maxed out? By that point, I've mastered the basics of combat, and I remember the keys for the special skills, and I know how to counter x and y and z... And then I become a god-ninja blinking around the screen, launching deadly projectiles of my own as I slash, crash, and smash around, killing dozens of enemies at a time! It's surprisingly simple, yet exciting and fun! I'd give this game six stars if I could!
I think it says something that four out of the top five comments have 1k+ upvotes... And all four of those say the intro sucks. Fix it, before it murders your entire company.
I... I... oh god... I was so powerful! HEY! THERE NEEDS TO BE A CONFIRM BUTTON FOR RESTARTING! Was trying to hit 'continue' after having gone away for a bit and I slipped... promptly back to nothing...
