Despite using the shootorial graphics, it still has some innovation in the weapons system. Still, would have been more interesting if the bullet levels did more than just increase the damage a bit. Enjoyable enough for a few minutes, nonetheless.
It's okay, but the upgrades don't seem to do anything. The weapon upgrades in particular doesn't seem to have any effect besides changing the weapon graphic. The speed upgrade affects my left/right speed, but not my up/down speed, which is kind of silly because I rarely leave the left edge of the screen. Also, the fact that I accelerate more moving up than down makes the controls a bit awkward. The boss battles are pretty decent.
It's okay, but gets dull quickly. No changing background + seemingly few powerups dropped + only temporary weapon upgrades + no real strategy needed until the last boss = repetitive. You really either need to allow for permanent weapon upgrades or make enemies require different strategies, so that I'm not just shooting aimlessly for the majority of the game. Also, the deceleration-movement system makes the last boss unnecessarily difficult, since the controls don't have the finesse necessary for dodging all the bullets.
Not bad. Probably better than most of the submissions I've seen. Main issues I've found: (1) On the second boss (Uranium?) when I paused the game, the purple photons seemed to keep spawning. (2) When you pause, the bullets are actually above the pause menu (not really a problem, just an aesthetic bug). (3) I just can't tell if I've activated a special weapon. My health bar seemed to be at 150%, but I couldn't see any noticeable change in my weapon.
Like many other entries, it seems like Shoot with different graphics. Also, the graphics confuse me a bit. I seem to be a car, and I start out on a road, but if I go off the road I can fly into the air. So why am I a car? Also, the buildings being shot at you look too much like the small building enemies, and I keep trying to kill the building-bullets.
It's okay, but not that much of a change from Shootorials. Also, I didn't figure out the upgrades until about halfway through the game (I kept looking for a button to press... the '1' key on my keyboard is not called 'button 1').
This feels half-finished. The first level works okay, even though just dodging is not particularly interesting. Then I can go to the land of humans or the house on the right? I go to the house on the right, my skill is listed as "undefined," and I can't buy a new one because it costs 3 skill points and I only have two. But for no reason whatsoever, clicking in the upper right outside the house increases my mana regeneration. And then when I leave the house, I seem to be back at the beginning and no longer have the land of humans option. I just have no idea what it is I'm supposed to be trying to do in this game.
It's okay, but really needs some kind of display to show the current strength/charge of my weapon. Other than that, without any kind of powerup or level movement, it gets old pretty quickly.
Pretty interesting, but:
(1) Makes me dizzy pretty quickly.
(2) Controls are awkward. Since your ship keeps moving in the same direction after you've rotated, it's hard to be accurate in your movements, especially when trying to collect carbon. It would be really nice if there were a way to break or reverse, so you could slow down before you turn to counteract this effect.
Still, this is a lot better than other submissions I've seen.
Not really clear what weapon levels do besides unlocking the next weapon. The weapon itself seems unchanged. Too much delay between shots becomes annoying later on. It was okay until some enemy came down the right side of the screen and just bummed around until it killed me. Not bad for a first try.
Gets too easy after the second level--the pink or tan powerups make you invincible, it seems, and then there's just no challenge. Also, I seem to have broken it... After the second boss, the next level never seems to end. It keeps spawning the same enemies over and over nonstop, and when I try to return to menu, the game dies on me.
Not bad, but it needs more variety. I almost quit before I reached the boss because I thought it was just repeating itself over and over. Also, powerups seem to stop coming after the second upgrade, which leaves me wanting more. Still, not a bad first effort.
Good idea, reminiscent of some of the old SNES space shooters, but it needs some work.
First, when you restart after dying, any old bullets and powerups stay on the screen. This is no good.
Second, the shift key randomly shoots a missile to the right? I'm not sure why. I'm guessing you were testing a new feature.
More importantly, you need a pause screen or some other way for me to view the instructions again after I've started playing. Also, you need to ramp down the difficulty. A screen full of bullets is fine for a space shooter, but you need to gradually build up to it. I'd also define a hitbox slightly smaller than the enemy ship, so that you can maneuver more strategically. Still, not a bad idea or effort.
Okay, but very simplistic. Doesn't really add anything beyond the shootorials. Also, consider upping the frame rate--animation looks very choppy right now.
Riddled with bugs. Can't kill enemies once they've reached your fort, so you're pretty much screwed if an enemy gets through. No way to tell if your shot actually hit the enemy or missed, since it shows the same animation either way. I got to -76 health before the game actually decided to end.
If you're going to make my piece "hit" the tower and go out of my control because the tower has swayed 2 pixels to the right, then you should give me the ability to move my piece more precisely so I can account for this sway. It's really annoying to have a perfectly stable tower and then have the next piece I put down go flying simply because the tower has shifted a couple pixels over.
