My only "complaint" is that I miss the original black-eyed monkey portraits. Other than that, it's still the BTD5 that I remember. Also, props for not shoving paid features in our face like many games of this kind do. 5/5
Something I noticed: even in modes above Easy, mission 1 has no green orbs. Is this intentional for lowering the difficulty, or is it an oversight? Because if it is an oversight, then green units are useless for mission 1.
Greens are removed to lower the difficulty in mission 1, yeah. You could remove your green units to beat it on the harder difficulties but there's only 4 enemies so you can probably get through anyway
Good so far, but one thing for convenience; there should be a section for "Inventory" at the Armory, to able to upgrade equipment that isn't equipped to someone. It's somewhat annoying to have to exit to your bag to get something, especially since there isn't a way to equip things while at the shop.
I'm enjoying the game so far, but I think that the entire multiplayer mode should be explained better (i.e. customizing your player and boss, using the White Milk Coins, fighting other people's bosses). I caught on quickly, but newer players probably won't. At least explain it in an instruction tab or something.
I found a text bug; the knight you start out with is named "Tristan", but when the tutorial tells you about training, the game refers to him as "Aoldy". It's a small messup, but it should be fixed.
Good so far, but there's one glitch I noticed; when I beat the Mighty Oak, the game gave me the "Lumberjack" achievement (which says it's gotten by beating said boss on Epic difficulty), but I was playing on Normal. Just pointing it out.
My review: Despite being the first of one of my favorite Tower Defense series, this was a weaker start. It's still a fun game, with funny tips and creativeness in design, and introduced good ideas that would provide the backbone for later games in the series. However, there isn't much replay value, as there is only one track, and without many towers or strong upgrades (and a higher average difficulty that can't be changed), you need to rely on a specific strategy, unlike the later BTDs where you could have many ways to play. It also lacks the things that made the later games better, like music, fast-forwarding, and better graphics. Still, it is still an entertaining, funny game while it lasts, but it pales in comparison to the later BTD games and other Tower Defenses. 3/5.
