Listen-- I'm working and working and making more games. I am starting to become a better dev. Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm working, please, please, it makes me feel like shit to see the same hater comments everyday. Please stop. At least criticize constructively.
Good game, 5/5 but the game server is so effing annoying... it keeps freezing only when I'm winning
when I'm losing, nothing but as soon as i start to win, WHAM, frozen
Oh yeah, and Dannydaninja thinks he's great. No offense, but his head is much larger than his talent. He's cocky, no better than me, and rates games poorly. He doesn't have a single game over 2.5 stars, and he's given me trouble before. Don't pay him any attention, he's not a good developer, you're a better developer than him.
FYI sorry noobyface, I guess people interpreted my comment wrong. I was not being sarcastic or mean, I was, in fact, surprised in a good way. I could not make a game in 20 minutes, no matter what kind of game. Good job, 5/5 keep working for it, I fanned you and now I'm keeping a tab on newly uploaded games of yours. contact me if you need help.
Hahaha @masterberus that's what she said but anyways 5/5 you're getting better and better and what you commented on my game "search for george", if you ever need help and I can do it, just ask. I'm fairly good by now and I could help you with some stuff and send you the source :D
No offense, I know you're a beginner developer, and so am I, but why, why, could I find the source codes to all of your games on the internet with a tutorial attached? I mean, I make games, and I think it's awesome to use tutorials, but it takes all the fun out of developing. 5/5 for inspiration and a good try, but try to shift away from tutorials and take off by yourself. :D
Game requires thought, which makes this 5/5, but you need to implement some sort of acceleration. I assume you are using as2, and so a sample code (with player being the instance name) that I just threw up is below:
onClipEvent(load){
speed = 0;
maxspeed = 8;
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
if(Key.isDown(Key.LEFT) && speed < maxspeed){
speed += 0.1;
}
if(Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT) && speed > -maxspeed){
speed -= 0.1;
}
//same thing for up and down, edit maxspeed for a different speed, I haven't tested it so
//if the player goes left when you press right, or something, play with it to fix it
if(speed > 0){
speed -= 0.05;
}
if (speed < 0){
speed += 0.05;
}
}
// this code should work, play with it, i hope this helped in some way.
All of you people insulting this: this game is crap. I admit it. But if you want to see that I did, in fact, work with this and learn a lot, go to the following link: http://www.kongregate.com/games/alexkolozsy/vehicular-tower-defense
I worked on this and learned a whole lot, which I used in the developement of that game. There is more coming, I have made a sell and start button, and more, which will be released in the next update. You can clearly see in that game that I have learned a lot.
