Don't like the controls. When you go in a window and come back out zombies are right under a ladder waiting to rape you for no reason. I'm not even going to waste another minute on it.
If they die they reset to level 1, the boosts they'd get by leveling up should be minimal like say +0.5 damage/health per level. So if you make perfect equipment and they survived the attack, they'd be a little stronger the following round but not enough to take away the challenge of the game. Weapons that don't break should be allowed to be kept also. So you can equip your soldiers with your best weapons, and add say a full durability trait to them, and if you don't repair them and make new weapons needed for the round you lose timing points.
All in all I gave this game 3/5, the level plot was straight forward but sloppy, the idea of building weapons was good enough for me to like this game, but not love it. The last level should of been how all the areas were, instead of levels. 50 levels could of easily been 10, by making each area like the ending. 5 really strong opponents, next area. Which would make more use of creating perfect weapons. The surviving soldiers should then be reused in the next level, having each of the 1 - 5 soldiers level up with the blacksmith as levels were completed.
Pro tip: Last few levels hold on to crystals and buy a bunch of heart(health) guard, staffs, etc, by the time you get to Dudley you'll have a crap load of crystals to build all weapons with crystals and a crap load of health on every soldier, and "hard" achievement completed, no matter how crappy your smithing is.
Nice game, pretty original in terms of what to do, and such. Only negative point is it gets repetitive really quick. I'm not done yet and my hand feels like it's going to have carpel tunnel. The game isn't hard nor difficult like the achievements seem to make it out to be, the only difficult thing is giving it your undivided attention for every single second you're playing or your guys die. Very redundant, but I love the "game", but not much to go on after the woo of "new and original" passes. The levels feel repeated over and over again with not much new to them. As a concept this is amazing, actually playing more then a few levels, very boring and grueling process, had me as level 1, lost me after 10.
Seems to be not working correctly today, beat a Beginner track, and intermediate, it said something like +80 and +150 money, and my money still says $0 at the main screen, and the achievement for being 50 waves on easy via an intermediate track didn't show completed, the icon in the top right of the chat is green and flashing green in the game. The stupid thing is there is no way to "prove" I did anything because the game won't say wither on not I beat it once, other than the "easy" reward is now $30 instead of $150 for the map.
More upgrades are needed for this game. lol I can beat it to infinite number of levels, just the boss cannons do like nothing after level 75, it's a waiting game, or who has no life game to sit for hours and change a tower location after making a decent maze.
All badges done, easily done and faster if you go for the gold right away and restart immediately if you don't. Some physics flaws, (buildings falling on someone but not killing them) but very original despite the WoW GUI, which a lot of flash games seem to like to mimic these days, but keep up the good work, loved the story and hope for a new version. The game is nice, and original.. however the movement with the mouse gets annoying quick, I find myself quirking over to poison from the orange ones when I'm not even maneuvering in that direction, which makes it very sloppy gameplay for me. I won't even bother finishing all the achievements, because of this. It happened way too many times, and I played longer than an hour before it got too redundant for me to bother. (Dying because of the movement flaws, not my timing.)
