the baseball bat is acually quite useful. if you use it when next to a coconut tree with coconuts, hit the tree with the baseball bat and coconuts will fly out of the tree. if they are floating slowly, hit them again and you will do a coconut juggle. meaning you will get more points and sometimes there will be coins that come up meaning that you got 20 score.
