Seems like some of the hit boxes are much larger than the animation, making it very difficult to decide whether to jump early or late. Some of them are extended on the front end of the obstacle, and others on the back. Consistency would help a lot.
I believe it's either a) based on the source image size (which is usually bigger than the obstacle) or b) based on the image content.
Either way, I agree the hitboxes aren't that great.
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll look into fixing them to a more consistent format (probably a rectangle within the obstacle itself).
Best way to get the endurance badges (1k combo, 1million points, etc), is to move very little. Take your time...it will take longer to level up, but it will be much easier for much longer, and as your combo score climbs, so will your high score (if you get 1k combo, you should already have 1million points). Also, the best upgrades to get in the beginning are more bullets and faster shot, as they are the only necessary ones for immediate protection/survival when you're going for the long haul like this.
Kind of stupid that some of the games right off the bat end before you can even move, or are impossible for where they start you (i.e. ball going down holes has killed me twice on lvl 1.0 because there simply isn't enough time to do anything). Have the game start off a bit slower so you can actually learn what you are doing in some games instead of fumbling through them 5+ times on some of them to figure out what is actually going on.
Wish, I don't know if you knew this, but 3 years ago, flash games weren't exactly in the fringe of development. Any game made within the last 10+ years has the capability of being exactly the same of any game made now.
Some of the levels remind me a great deal of IWBTG (for those of you that don't know it, i am jealous of you), without the insane difficulty. VERY fun game, nice to see something refreshing and old-school at the same time. Grats on a very rare 5/5 from me.
You can upgrade the number of elves on the upgrade screen, just click on the elves and click upgrade. I didn't figure that out till about 3/4 of the way through, but man they get dominant after you upgrade them.
12 was the only one that got to me for more than a few tries...still not sure that I did it right (ball was bouncing like crazy at the end, only one I had to finish like that).
170.27, and i know i could have easily shaved off another 10 seconds. It's just a matter of knowing the levels and avoiding the stupid mistakes with too much speed.
For some reason my game seemed to be about 5 seconds behind what I was pushing, and it killed me finally in lvl 21 from running the wrong way. Not sure what is causing this, but it does it on all graphics settings.
@ jsccm, to tell someone that they don't have a brain for not enjoying this 'game' is about as ignorant as it comes. You claim that you and the author seem to have a superior grasp on reality because you enjoy it, and view it as a collective of reality. Stop trying to attack people for not enjoying it and rethink yourself and your own intellect for needing to be superior.
7-5-6 13, most deaths were just learning experiences, only one death on final boss because I was tired and had bad reflexes, but yeah, kinda like a short secret of mana wandering look combined w/ a zelda fight mode, 4/5 imo
Dramatically easier than the first one. No puzzle took me more than 3 tries, whereas the first one I would be stumped for 30 minutes at a time on a few levels. Still a lot of fun tho. 4/5
It's not luck to destroy that town, it's placement of special units. Use tank right away to eat some fire, then place a couple others (sanders and boomer worked well for me), only failed once.
183 days to beat it, oofta!
