Anyone having trouble connecting the nerves: the circles around each nerve end shrink the longer it goes without being clicked on, which is what is timing you out. Click each one a few times and keep cycling through them all. Eventually they'll all connect and it will feel slower that way. But if you focus on only clicking one at a time, one of the others tends to shrink too fast and cause the man to die before you can get to them all. Multitask and give each a few clicks at a time, keeps the nerves active long enough to get them all connected eventually.
Sir & Sir and Madam & Madam and Sir & Madam is such a beautiful way of phrasing it. I also love how you didn't make it just about gay or just about lesbian or just about straight. There's so much politics these days that attempt to place one of them above the others and they miss the entire point. This shows a better balance which is sorely needed in the world. More people centric and the common ground people have to work within. =)
For anyone having trouble finding the reboot: it's no longer a command you input, it's now a button up in the top right of the screen, next to the green round symbol and right under your 'money' amount. I know I didn't notice right away and kept trying the older command, so I figured someone else might be having the same trouble.
More things I wish this game had: ability to change the programming of what a penguin targets (nearest, farthest, strongest) or by type (go after shooters first instead of chasing teleporters in the middle of open fire). Would make a great upgrade. Also, an upgradable radius around a penguin that either slows down or prevents a teleporter who's next to them keep them from going anywhere. Also, why on earth do bullets go through obstacles when penguins can't and are dumber than the boulder in front of them and have no ranged attack to fight back? C'mon man, that's just obnoxious and unnecessary.
So many things that would have been cool to see: auto-collect at the end of a level, ability to extend life of eggs as an upgrade, fix it so that running the cursor past the egg picks it up and not push it around, AI upgrade (or at least the ability to tell a penguin to reboot it's targeting), hotkeys for the abilities (bombs, speed, etc).
Would be nice if you could make your character wear a different color than the other workers. As soon as everything gets busy it can be hard to tell which is the one you control and where it is on the screen right away. Also, it would be nice if you could sell or deactivate the ability to move really fast for the main character. Early on it's nice for collecting coins, but later on you have workers for that and it would be nice to slow the player character movement speed back down to make it easier to control with the arrow keys.
Some nice changes, a bit more streamlined and you can see the game getting closer to the way it needs to be. 2 possible bugs after the newest update: 1, hardware seems to still show technician shapes in the option bar /after they have logged out/ and if I add them into hardware again they're no longer greyed out and are counted towards efficiency, etc. Doesn't seem quite right. 2, the buy button (esp. when buying in x100 mode) seems to act up leading to randomly uneven units being bought. I wonder if it's just more sensitive now and if your click lasts a beat too long it tries to max out how many you can purchase or something? Though it's not actually maxing it out either. Seems a little inconsistent but something is acting a little buggy there. Though other unit amounts seem to be normal. Otherwise some really nice changes, I like seeing the game growing up and evolving through its alpha stage. It's come a long way and it'll get there.
Bug: sometimes when dragging lab tech hardware into or out of a core, (if release the dragging too early maybe?)sometimes it will disappear completely from hardware even while the technician is still logged in, the shape no longer visible anywhere in hardware (list or cores). Sometimes it continues to run the process as the game thinks it's still in my core, even if I place other shapes on top of where it used to be. Other times it disappears but doesn't act placed so I have to keep manually running that tech-specific process until they log out if I want it to run. Either way it prevents me from placing any more of that shape in my hardware and is harder to use. Glitch resets when tech logs out and back in, unless glitch is re-triggered. But obviously if the tech is logged in, their shapes shouldn't be disappearing from hardware as long as they're there. And having it disappear but still running isn't correct either.
It's nice to see this game coming along and taking shape as it develops stronger. One thing I would like to see is this: the ability to buy X1, x10, x100, xMax, etc for task levels is really nice, but it's also really easy to click one of them, use it, then forget which setting you left it on when looking at it again later. So it would be really nice if it visually indicated which leveling buy multiplier setting is currently active (that one becoming brighter maybe?) so that I don't buy max of 'identifying hot dogs' when really I meant to only buy 10 more right then. Because visually they all look identical and you have to carefully deduce which one is active or be surprised if it buys a different amount than you intended.
If anyone is having troubles with saving: it's a local storage save, not a cloud save. So any time your cookies get cleared, your save will be wiped out. Make sure you're not doing that, AND that you don't have your browser settings doing that automatically when you close it the browser AND that you don't have any third party program like a computer security/maintenance/tuneup program clearing your cookies on your behalf periodically. Check your settings, track down how your cookies are getting cleared and solve it. Usually fixes any save issue on these Decision games. I've lost a few and always regretted it, but it was always deleted cookies that caused it. Which becomes more and more automatic these days so you sometimes have to check everything. And if devs ever read this: adding cloud saves to these Decision games would be amazing!
2 bugs since the recent update:
1, After playing when you come back to the game, the level of everything will be the same but the price for all the tasks will be reset to default. So you can literally buy to level up the tasks like 'recognise hotdogs' until you run out of nodes, save the game, close the game, reload the game and be back to only costing 4 nodes again to continue finishing leveling it up to the next level at a fraction of what it should be costing you. That's a bug.
2, offline progress seems to be broken. Hoping that's bug and not a feature because idle games which have no offline progress drive me nuts. And I like this game!
Great concept, though the controls are a bit awkward and difficult in a lot of ways. But as a concept/exploratory experiment of a game, it's got a bit of fun to it!
