srednivashtar: I needed a couple of tries for the first hard level too. Try to focus on fire and energy mages and upgrading the mage on the central tile. That seemed to work for me.
jayp_1984: First medium level. Don't play warriors. Don't play mages on the corners. Appart from that play as many basic mages as possible before levelling any, at least 8. Upgrade with a mix of elements but no poison. 3 fire, 3 energy and 2 cold should do it. I did this map first time so you should be able to do it eventually, hang in there! Much tougher maps to come though :o/ P.S. Good to see armour still has a u in :o)
Guys, the game is random, not rigged. I beat Cautious and Reckless more often than I lose and my strategy is no more complicated than trying not to zilch. Reckless gets amazing runs of luck because it rolls so many dice and takes amazing risks. Please ignore the flamers Gaby, it's a good game (a bigger strategy element might have been nice)
Aloony. The last boss (Lodestone) on the Coastal Ruins has 34 armour so you might not do any damage. I tried hitting him with cold mages and he does absorb damage so I can confirm the strength and weakness isn't reversed.
Tactician's of any colour than blue or blue oncecrated tacticians should do the job for you.
P.S. I really enjoyed this game. My only disapointment was that the later waves on the last map were too easy compared to what came before, anti-climactic.
Is there any point in rogues and quickspells? (I worked out what the archers are for ;o)
