Tailor your letters if you get stuck. A few high level letters and a few words that use all of them can get you through a lot of levels. I've got a jade P and a brass U that can get me a long way with PUNISHMENT, STUPIDEST, UNDERPANTS, PURGATORY and the like. On L34 now.
Wave 70 on endurance and my map is littered with L12 gems. I honestly can't be bothered putting more on. Mana factory grunting out massive amounts. I'm going to walk away and see what score I get.

Thanks STG. I'm happy with the controls as they are. I was thinking of Baldur's Gate as an RPG lots of people are already familiar with. Making the interface more like people are used to would get a better rating. I'd like the game so I'd like the game to get a good rating and encourage the author to make more! P.S. Wow, it's getting tough now the enemies can resurrect.
I like it as it is, but I think more people would give you a high rating if you made the controls more like Baldur's Gate. i.e. "space" to pause the game, issue commands, "space" again to unpause and see your commands carried out. For people who get stuck use the Tower Defense on highest difficulty to grind.
If you want to increase your XP use anger. Summoning extra creeps on each wave gives you extra score per creep, it gives you more mana and even more score because of the extra creeps, finaly you get amulets from summoning extra creeps and forging more powerful gems (using your extra mana).
"a gem bomb didn't even kill a first wave monster"... Then don't use gem bombs! I'm doing well, past the 2nd boss. I'm playing on X3 speed appart from critical moments. One tip I'd recomend is once you have some experience, go back and do the level again but without using traps and demolishing all structures for a big XP boost.
