I'm pretty sure the lvl in your top left is your level, and the one at the bottom is your skill level?

Something seems a little off about the EXP system, I'm lvl 40 and fighting in the lvl 260 area so i can get a little exp?
XP should be working fine. Higher levels it gets harder to get XP. Make sure you are using game verson 2.2.1.5

You should make it to where after you become king, you can go to other kingdoms and take over the same way.
