Story is amazing, as well as arts. But you can't ask us to die 10 times on first obstacle before understanding what to do. That's mainly because obstacles aren't highlighted enough, and also because the starting scrolling speed is too high. Starting slower then increase would have been way more pedagogical.
It's possible to skip by pressing the spacebar. We'll add a way to let the player know in-game.

I admire your work on this game, and I liked playing it. I still have a few complaints : 1.The combat camera is annoying, it makes things confusing for no reasons. 2.Characters shouldn't disappear each time they are not concerned by an attack. This feature is useful when there is a huge animation, like invocation for example but currently it makes things even more confusing again for no reasons. 3.Even in Fast Mode, combat moves are very long anyway, so you always have to wait between each attacks which is really boring. 4.I know musics make your .fla size going crazy, but currently sounds quality is so poor that it's unbearable, which is a shame regarding the work you've provided. 5.Lama fight <3 5/5
It's cool but I got a few bugs : I got hit by 2nd boss laser (heard the sound) but the laser was invisible. Also, I just beat the 3rd boss, my ship left the screen, but nothing happenned since... Is there an end screen ?
Best Castle Defense around. That's a shame I got a bug on last level : after I died on boss's 2nd phase, I restarted the level and the boss was still there! So I try to killed him, but then I won the game xD Level 8 spoiled ! 5/5
When you first encounter a boss, the game saves your progress. So when/if you die during the fight, you can come back and fight him again without having to chug all the way through the waves again!
You should implement the Kongregate API, it's really simple to do and add interest to play the game long-term ==> Right now, i wish I could compare my score to other players :)
