Of the first 5 on hard, the clock went quickly, the gears meshed nicely, and the bees bugged me. That's all the silly things I can think of at the moment. Didn't bother with the normal levels as doing the hard ones counts for all the badges, as well as the challenge that is happening, which is why I'm playing this. It's good, I liked the first one, I love the auto-lock.
1 star for connectivity issues. Seems to have been traffic related. Tried several times on BOTD day, could not connect, decided that the effort required just to get into the game ought to get a badge, BOTD points lost. Tried today, just out of curiosity, almost immediate connection. Not going to bother playing, though. (Apologies for double comment, previous comment was not complete.)

Derp. I spent the longest time on level 10 hitting the yellow button and then trying to figure out how to avoid the red bots :/. Talk about a duh moment.
Great game. Very impressed. Disappointed with length, though. Sequel or expanded version would very much interest me. However, weapon system seems kind of simplistic and defense mode may be a bit overpowered, in my opinion. And an expanded skill set would be nice. Still giving a 4.
@munglay, and anyone else who doesn't get the game mechanics. Actions cost action points. If you move close to an enemy, he can spend more APs on attacking you and less APs on moving. Regarding your weapon overheating, collect the cash boxes and kill stuff to level up your guys. Don't forget to spend skill points when you level up. One of the skills gives you more shots before overheat. Max character level is 8, which lets you max everything. Make sure you let all your guys kill stuff so they get XP.
Upgrade complete. Amusing toy, possibly annoying, much grinding, little challenge, no replay value. Okay, so yes, trying to destroy all the ships in a wave is a bit of a challenge, but they don't shoot back, and there are no serious consequences if you don't. So, no challenge to speak of.
I'll have to add my two bits to the "try Motherload" comments. Not that this is a bad game, necessarily, but I like the freedom of exploration of Motherload vs. the timed constraints of MegaDrill.
I'll add to the other comments about adding this to Kongregate's feature list by stating that these features should have been part of Kongregate's badge system from the start, in my opinion. I'd been wishing for something like this when I noticed it at the top of the Music & More category on the main page and clicked on it out of curiosity about the name. One of the very, very few (maybe the only, so far) 5 star ratings I've given.
Easiest hard badge I think I've run into for a while. Timing is everything, don't overuse your glide ability, and collect gems as often as possible. You can easily rack up a several million point score. Unfortunately, you can also lose several million in one fell swoop by getting too close to the 'sky' :/
While I realize there is only so much one can do with 8bit graphics, several of these character graphics appear to be taken from a game called Realm of the Mad God.
Yeah. I'm not a big fan of these types of games. Personal preference, is all. I'm sure there are some people out there who absolutely love the 'frenzy' type of game. I just can't switch mental gears fast enough.
Nice, simple game. Yes, a bit repetitive sometimes. Fairly easy if you take your time on the early levels to accumulate ammo. Played from start to win on Chrome, myself, so Chrome isn't necessarily 100% your problem.
