OK, so here's my impression, I appreciate that you've updated the play, but I wish there were an option to disable the new units, and also, I think it would work better with all black units as in the original. Added color makes the board seem a little busy somehow. Also, it would be wonderful if you'd add more of the original maps, but the level editor makes that easy enough for players to do, I suppose. All in all, a fairly faithful reproduction with some upgrades, so thanks a lot! P.S. Did you used to play this on the Commodore, then?
Holy shit, someone finally made EA's Lords of Conquest for flash. My pop used to play this for hours at a stretch. I'll post another review after I've tried it.... I hope you included the Prussia map.
No it's not a matter of opinion at all. Either you're wrong or right. It's a question of fact. Nobody's trying to trick you, it's a simple bold-faced lie that a 3 year old could see through.
I see why it might tick you off about the game balancing, but that's how a lot of these P2P/F2P games hook F2P players. You should be proud that you're not stupid enough to shell out to protect your pride in some pointless online game, but I really don't think your anger here is righteous.
See but my theory is that you are in fact complaining that you can't get something for nothing. Everyone's a hypocrite, really who gives a flying f***? It only matters if you hurt someone with it, which is not the case here.
If you wanna be pissed, be pissed on behalf of the programmers who are probably working for someone who doesn't know shit about game development and getting paid half the value of their work.
Erock. You're missing the point, so let me be more blunt. Guys like you and Obelisk, or whatever his name is, expect that everyone else is going to do nice things for you. Frankly, YOU are the ones that piss me off. The developer is out to make money. While it might not be the most noble thing in the world, still, they're actually making something, and then marketing it, just like EVERY OTHER company out there. Whether or not you enjoy the system is irrelevant. They aren't bad for giving you less free gaming than you wanted, they're good for giving you any at all.
It's not a scam, Obeliskos, it's business, just like every other pay-to-play game out there. In fact, it's better than others which are only pay to play, because it offers something for free. A scam requires deceit.
There is an ending.
I can relate. I don't wanna give it away, but suffice it to say I was surprised when I grew up and found out that you can't get no respect unless you take a stand, and it doesn't much matter in terms of social life which side you choose. Turns out it takes a lot of balls to be grey.
To defeat the last boss you need to make quick runs. Level all your stuff as much as possible, especially shields. If you get high shields (think lvl 4), you can make a quick run past while firing missiles and guns, then hyperjump away. Kill all the little guys, wait for your energy to re-up or pickup the powerups, then lather, rinse, repeat. It gets a lot easier once you take out a few modules since the boss is modular. Also helpful is the missile creation powerup, whatever it's called.
Wow, all of the reviews here make no sense. There IS an option to turn off gore and corpses (I recommend doing it at the very beginning), in the pause menu (press p).
You DO know which mission gives the most xp after you try each one once. But for the record, survivor missions are best, by far. Once you finish them out, you get a special prize, too. Zombie hunt missions increment experience either faster than or at the same rate as supply missions. I'd only do a supply mission if I really needed a health pack, which will never happen.
And the assault rifle IS automatic.
I got the zero ammo glitch on my flamethrower when I switched weps while reloading....
I agree, time to read hint would be nice. Right now you really can't afford to read, which means an inevitable fail, and less of a brain game, especially on combinations that could have more than one real word answer. Also, I may have missed something because I was hurrying, but it seemed most of the definitions for plural nouns were in the singular, which seems a little unfair.
But it's pretty fun, and there are a surprising array of palindromes.
My rank: racecar.
Alhorro's advice was build a sniper first, upgrade, then 2 tesla coils, upgrade, then a range booster, upgrade (will cover a two-square radius so keep that in mind when building the first 3), then add rockets as necessary. Put all points into mercenary, then damage.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Thanks alhorro, your advice was a gigantic help, and is right on. Got me perfects on all easy levels up to 4, so far. Which is nice, because you get an extra skill point for a perfect round.
