If this game grows incredibly successful over time I hope that the Devs will consider hosting player data themselves so that those players who don't store cookies on their browsers will be able to maintain a consistent character and collect cards instead of having to start from default every day... Great game though.
I was really excited to try this game out seeing it today on the Kongregate menu, I first went through the character descriptions for the ships and they all seemed cool and hilarious, with interesting balance and abilities tradeoffs, I tried playing a solo match and everything went well, but then I joined a team match and I had the worst frame-drop lag my computer has ever experienced (even having been an early LoL player), Firefox then went catatonic and announced a "fatal cm error" and that "Firefox plugin containment" had failed, locking my computer up for over half an hour. I had felt initially that this was a game I could have happily spent months immersed in, but alas through the carelessness of the developers this seems not to have been a fated match. I regretfully rate this game with the lowest score possible.
Typo- chapter 11: If we *win this battle we save our forest
Apologies for writing so many comments! I am awarding this game five stars, with the recommendation that the "food consumption bar" not only drain once but repeatedly until Rawr health is full, or else not have the "back" button appear while health is filling u in the kitchen. The story was creative, the pacing was good, the character design was excellent, and the skill tree was very interesting! Very nice work!
I played all the way to level 27/27 without knowing that food continuously heals you if you stay within the kitchen... I thought that 50hp/2sec meant it did 50 healing over a duration of 2 seconds total...
Great art! It would be good to have a warning pop up if you are about to go into battle with only 1 health by accident, telling you to eat some food.
Phrase corrections in the first chapter: *townspeople *As for me, I've known
Boring, glitchy, and badly explained over several key concepts. Additionally the requirement upon players to be social and make friends even to keep pace with opponents is highly disconsonate with the game's theme, and disappointing.
On a second note, this game's emphasis on informing friends and forcing friends to join Kongregate was annoying, if "loner" monsters can be more powerful, why not allow for players without friends a similar courtesy? The unfair ability for individuals to buy power with money or social connections reflects the world we are trying to escape from by engaging in flash games!
I thought that the different different design aspects of this game were really creative, but after the free missions complete there just isn't anything to do. All portals that you open might have all their outer territories already occupied by other players and the unlockable missions are too expensive to save up for without waiting for days or weeks, I have been grinding random player 1v1s and bot missions but there is almost no reward or achievement involved for that. I award this game plus three stars for the art and lore, minus two for the pacing. After 24 hours I got to level 14, and now with 24 land tiles total I leave my governor and island to the other players.
As a Linux user I am tempted just to give any game running Unity the lowest possible rating since the developers and Kongregate staff clearly aren't interested in comprehensive OS availability, and false site advertisement for these offerings wastes my time and raises my hopes unfairly. Enjoy your downvote A10!
Like JSilvis, the flash problems in Firefox have gone from images and text boxes freezing on the screen constantly to now having a "gray screen of death", even after reloads, which means at level 14 I can no longer play to unlock the final badge.
