Last level is too unpredictable. I can lay those blocks pixel-for-pixel perfect and they'll still randomly jut out and cause me to lose. Other than that last stupid level, it was entertaining.
To beat it in 5 days you really have to have an excellent first day and take advantage of the parachute as soon as possible. It took many tries, but I eventually had a first day where I got $49.75, 666 ft. high (not joking lol), and stayed up for 34.71 seconds. It ended up getting me $1313.40 and from there is was just gravy (going as high as possible, using the e rockets, then using my single parachute to snag $5 coins all the way down)
Hm... It was very easy and thus shorter than I'd hoped (that's the quickest I've ever gotten a hard medal). However, for as short as it was, it was excellent. I love the art style, the music, the creepy scenario, everything. It was great. After reading all of that text about the rabbit with no mention of any other characters I figured I had to be the rabbit. haha! Make one with the mad hatter and chesire cat!
I didn't have any trouble with the throwing action... Sounds like a problem with the quality of their mice and mousing surfaces rather than a problem with the game (I have an MX518 and a Bansheepad).
Fun game and very pretty graphics. The physics make for some fun baby-explosions.
The challenges were kind of on the easy side (I literally beat the challenge and the achievement on the first try... which kind of surprised me) but fun nonetheless.
You need to make it so that certain things are forced to come up on the cards at some point...
When I'm on a level with two green wedges next to each other and I am dealt ONE green piece after using all three deals, there is something wrong.
Also, what's up with me being able to move tiles that don't fit next to each other, but I can't momentarily put a green tile on a yellow wedge area? I should be able to shift them as I want.
You should just cut out the last 3 levels or something and make it rounds of 9 instead of rounds of 10. With near perfect play I can fairly consistently fall in the 27-29 range, but I've yet to be one of those freakign lucky individuals who actually makes it to level 30 and beats it.
The unpredictability element of this game is incredibly frustrating. I am skilled at the game... I play well... I construct my rings in such a way to get quadruple harmony bonuses... But the game always kills me in the end. I've gotten to level 29 twice, dying both times by a single card, and level 27 once even though I had 5 jokers at one point...
My 5 jokers were quickly stripped away as I was met with levels with 2 green wedges... but given no green peices... at all...
Time and time again I play to the best of my ability with the complete crap I'm given. There needs to be some sort of advanced system that actually makes it possible to win, given enough skill and thought.
It is REALLY annoying when I'm at 13,500 points with a full green bar and I shoot my 5-ball shot and out of nowhere a full thing of a totally different color pops out of nowhere, taking my bar down to nothing AFTER I shot.. Yes... AFTER I shoot... I shoot.. the thing pops up... and I die. That's not fair because it's impossible to recover from.
Please fix this flaw.
Okay... when I reviewed this game The first time I hadn't played "Ultimate Defense"... or should I say "Ultimate Torture", because it was torture to play. The fact that this game was used in a challenge was the ONLY reason I played it... my score didn't even submit the first time so I had to go through the misery of getting to level 10 in your defense game AGAIN.
PLEASE remove it from the game lineup.. it is so bad... The ants and ninjas blend in with the background... the guns are irritating... If something gets next to them it's so hard to shoot... The screen scrolling is pointless and annoying... I cannot begin to express the frustration.
I don't get why you put all of these crappy weapons that no one would ever buy or use (because the starting weapon is significantly better) then put all of the good weapons waaaay beyond reach at 10x the price of all of the others. It's really frustrating and makes no sense. You get a 4/5 for graphics, 4/5 for sound, 3/5 for menus, and 0/5 for weapons management and balancing. The gameplay has some bugs... like in the ant game... when I kill an ant then shoot again my shot at an ant behind it should not be blocked by the carcass of the dead ant. It was close between a 3 and a 4, but because of these few greatly frustrating problems I'm giving it a 3.
It was moderately interesting, but is somewhat frustrating. The frustration lies not in the fact that the game is "too hard" but that the very concept of the game requires the player to be too precise (more precise than we're able to be)... so we're left doddling around hoping we'll be lucky enough to hit that last ship. It's a good concept but it needs a tweak to help us hit the planes more accurately.
I thought it was interesting that the game kind of went with the song, although most people probably don't play long enough to realize that :P. I played from beginning to end to be fair, and there were elements I liked and disliked. I both liked AND disliked the pulsating stars. Good idea, irritating execution I guess. I know this doens't help much but it just needs "MORE". Not bad so far though.
I think you've written an excellent game here. The graphics are impeccable, the gameplay is fun (if repetitive...) and the sound effects and music are superb. I gave it a four, however, because while it provides temporary fun, it is a supreme button masher, and while I hate to call such an awesome game a "rip-off" (so I won't)... it is uncomfortably similar to super smash brothers, yet lacks the variability in play. Great great great job. Meh, I'm a tough rater. If it's not awesome and utterly original it's pretty hard to get a 5 from me :P.
Sort of fun and interesting concept, but pretty much completely unplayable on a laptop. You should add an option for dual controls (WASD for one, Arrows for other).
This is definitely a thanksgiving-only game, but decent for the holiday. I stopped playing after the first level since I could tell it would pretty much be the same thing with higher feather requirements. Anyway, decent job overall.
You're always messing with our perspectives :P. I like that, but you don't need to do it in every game! haha. It does help keep me attentive though. I found that you made it a little too hard to stay balanced. This is a good shortie for Halloween only. Good job on the graphics Coolio.
Did he say "Who's your daddy"? hahaha. I actually enjoyed it a lot compared to other games with similar rank. You do need to add more lives and maybe vary it up some? You could add little fun things like a floating trampoline or powerups in the air that you can shoot through. I gave it a 5/5 not because it deserves a 5, but because it is so underrated and has a lot of potential.
This game is decent but still needs some work for it to really be playable and enjoyable to most people. One thing in particular you can change is the wall climbing indicator... Putting an up arrow is totally counterintuitive. I kept pressing up and the guy wouldn't climb. I finally figured out it was left and right to climb. Use left and right indicators so it's intuitive. Putting an up arrow there only serves to confuse players.
