let me follow the tutorial again and see if i can correct it I'll start from the beginning, i fixed it somewhat it still crashes but it waits till all the enemies are loaded i can get to about 2500 points then it crashes i'll start from tutorial one and try again
That's strange... it's still working fine for me. Do other tutorials of mine crash too or just this one? If you can send the error message, it would be very helpful.
Okay after the second wave comes out it seems to me they come out very very thick. and after a few seconds before the third spot has enemies, flash seems to crash it tells me An ActionScript error has occurred but it doesn't say what line and i don't understand the error, it doesn't seem to be very straight forward like java is. Any ideas?
Is this in your own game or in the in-tutorial game? If it is your game, it would greatly help to see your scene behavior that creates the enemies as well as a screenshot of the error message (I have had to become good at decoding them due to the number of errors I get in my own games).
I'm glad you were able to figure it out. I am guessing you changed the enemy graphics at some point from a larger graphic to a smaller one... that is normally the reason for a larger collision box than it should (for some reason Stencyl doesn't automatically resize when changing graphics).
i followed the tutorial exactly or so i thought, the only thing i did different was the sprites, mine is black instead of blue. my collision is a bit wacky. On yours, you must actually touch the square to die, in mine, you only have to get about an 1/8 of an inch away from the bad guy and you die. any idea how to fix this?
Neat game play, only two complaints. not very aesthetically pleasing, needs more detail or be a bit less monotone. and te jump pads can be difficult to use. love the way the tutorial is written in. overall great game. 4/5
i really like snake clones, this one reminds me of one i programmed for the ti-84 but with color, would like to see sound and the snake to have round segments (personal preference) level additions with upgrades? on a side note. i wish people would stop bashing these newer developers. i program java and python games and i know it isn't easy starting out. my first few games were filled with bugs so go easy. i say 4/5 just because i love snake. 3/5 on developement
2/5 here's why. 1. not all moving balloons popped when you hit them. 2. music did mess up when you hit restart. try adding a stop to the music when restart is hit. 3. its one endless level. try adding a level base system and menu options, shape of the cannon would be nice other than that, like i said previously practice makes perfect
I still have no clue what is going on... could you try on a different computer and see if it works there.
