Now whenever I buy 100 freezes up maybe it was better to have battles and shop separated

Is there a way to gain more energy per minute? It's so slow...
It picks up once you reach the 2nd layer, and again in the 3rd layer, and even more once you unlock rewards that are tied to the 3rd layer.

if you used the save button or the game was on for an hour you should have a copy in the cloud. In the option menu->load from cloud.
