Great concept, but there's far too little contrast in the visuals to be able to accurately see danger, and not enough area to escape it if you do. Also, the fairy art concept needs to go, it doesn't work with the genre or even with the weapons and enemies. Actually, just get a new artist, that's the single major flaw in every aspect.
Fairly monotonous, not terribly interesting weapons, repetitive enemies, and imprecise controls. That said, the base is solid, just needs a bit more polish. It feels unfinished, 3/5.
When I've got them beat and am about to destroy the castle, they always are able to instantly unleash an entire army. It's so unbalanced I have a hard time believing it's not a bug.
