WarLight: Eastern United States Level 3 (for those who I saw asking for tips on Level 3)
View the notes at the bottom BEFORE you start playing as some may prove helpful and you will less likely make mistakes. Also, this method is not golden, but it won me the map so enjoy :)
Keep refreshing until you either get Eastern US. First, send about half you troops to the territories. Don’t worry much about defending. Also, for the territories that haven’t been captured by an enemy, 4 to 5 units should be enough. By the time you get the United States as a whole, work your way up Canada. If there is an enemy in one, shove them out. At the beginning, they are just colonizing and are not as aggressive but form a wall in the direction of the enemy. Make sure to reinforce California and check Hawaii often to make sure that there isn’t a huge enemy pile-up from the time you weren’t looking. If you have the US and Canada, you should prove to be very lethal from the bonuses that you get. From the troops in Canada, hit Greenland hard and get into Europe. DO NOT INVADE EUROPE AS A WHOLE. TAKE SVALBARD AND THE UNITED KINGDOM AND HOLD THEM SO THE ENEMY WILL NOT GET THE BONUSES. When you have captured US and Canada, you should have rough barricades of troop sin: United Kingdom and Svalbard (in Europe), Anadyr (North Eastern Russia), and California as well as the southern portion of the US. Station about 10 troops or at least 5 more than the enemy at choke points (mentioned above). Choke points are the areas that allow access to you region bonuses. If the enemy cant get through your choke-point, they wont be able to disrupt your bonus reinforcements. Now take South America. Set up defenses at Brazil and Argentina. 2 Paths (its all up to you to decide and based on which ever continent looks weaker):
Europe Path
From Argentina, reach into Africa and capture Nigeria. Take West Africa and slowly expand up to Europe. Then have a pincer attack on Europe from UK and Africa, moving from the west to the east. Take Europe as first priority over Africa. Set up shop and attack from there.
Asia Path
After you set defenses at the choke points, Attack with the army in northeastern Russia. Make sure to attack with small number of units and use your reinforcements to fill in the territories that you conquered. At this time, your enemy will probably have taken east and west China and India. Try and forge your way down the Eastern portion. That way, the enemy can only attack from one side most of the time. Also attack from California into Hawaii if you haven’t already. Move from East to West, always making sure that you have more troops at the borders than your enemy. Set up shop and head to Europe from there.
Notes***
- At the beginning, expanding is more important than defending. The AI thinks that too unless you leave a territory with no defense what so ever.
- When expanding only attack with 4 troops to areas that haven’t been captured.
- Make sure that you have about the same number of troops at the territories that borders the enemies.
- When attacking an enemy territory in the mid/later game, do not attack all out. It is a good idea that the attacking territory has about 2X more than the defending territory. Then send about half of your troops in. If you troops capture it, move in. Otherwise, they may get inside you border and attack the inner territories (which should only have about 1 troop each as long as you keep your borders and choke-points strong).
-Save your cards until you need it or reach the maximum of 4 cards. Otherwise, in a dire situation, you will get boned by the enemy who suddenly show up with a huge number of troops near your border.
- The reason that you should attack the choke points that I mentioned (United Kingdom, Nigeria, etc) is because in case your enemy builds up a huge army (somewhere in West Africa, you see a mob much bigger than yours). You can then back out without losing your regional bonuses on the first turn they attack. Then you can build up your own mob based on however many you saw.
- If for some reason one of your major armies gets separated from the rest, you can use that army to push into the enemy territories that give bonuses. That will disrupt 3-6 reinforcements depending on location.
Once again, this has gotten me through Level 3 but doesn’t mean in will get you through level 3 on the same try. Please give me feedback :)
