nik nak is the robot? I've barely got him... you just ignore his stun abilities, use atom wall on his strongest attack, physic shock when he's trying to heal (it's crucial to stop his healing) and lots of brain freeze.
maybe the best advice would be to focus on Mana Pool and skills that lower gem costs and increase mana. I'm by the end of the game and passing with ease using this
