All Papa games I played to date were shitty time-wasters without gameplay at all -- all you have to do is to repeat few simple actions ad infinitum for hours. So I wondered -- how they are going to screw up thing as simple as 2D platformer? Well, they managed to do it. Extremely boring mechanics, boring uninspired combat, non-existing level design, bad jumping mechanics, unskippable repeating "cinematics", bottomless pits, cumbersome restart procedure when you die -- the whole package. But the most genius thing is of course the need to grind the same exactly boring levels numerous times using different characters to unlock keys you need to progress. And it's in 2D platformer! Brilliant.
@Wyrd42. It should work in Windows 8, too. The problem with 8 is the fact that their Windows Defender cancels all changes to hosts (because generally changed hosts is a sign of malware), so hosts should be added to files excluded from check. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2764944/en
Wow, so many idiots in the comments. It takes exactly one minute to modify /etc/hosts and play the game, less than average time required to type stupid useless butthurt comment. Thanks to zAlbee and sensible part of Kongregate community for preserving this game for us via re-creating part of game files from scratch.
Great game. Guys who a talking about "consistency", about saving and checkpoints in a small 5-minute game (where even the hardest badge is extremely easy) are ridiculous.
I don't get why this game has so high rating. There is nothing in it except several lazily designed minigames you should repeat something like ten zillion times.
Hard badge is really hard. I mean it requires no skill whatsoever, and there is no challenge at all (you can't even lose, and you always get some xp), but you should to play 1 hour or something in the most boring and pointless "game" that is possible to imagine. With fast forward button it would be possible to get the badge in 1 minute, simply giving to the customers unbaked food, and the only reason why completion tooks so long are long pointless repetitive animations you can't skip and should watch again and again.
1) There is something wrong with collision detection. 2) "Developped" -- typo, "Realised" should be "created" instead I believe? however, I'm not very good in English myself, so I'm not sure. 3) The game looks somewhat unbaked. Rotating rectangle don't add much to the game mechanics, and don't really make it "geometric madness". Maybe it would make sense to add more "geometric madness"? e.g. more geometric enemies, pulsing and rotating things, or whatever.
Thanks a lot for your comment ^^
The description of the game seems to be correct now, i'm really sorry about this.
Your comment is very constructive, i'm gonna try to do those changes as soon as possible.
Thanks again.
The game is fun. But make possible to select color from keyboard (RGB, QWE, 123 -- anything goes), it's too slow to use mouse wheel. Maybe it would be reasonable to change the font -- typography is hugely important in such minimalistic games, and Times New Roman makes them look cheap.
Thanks for the comment.
I made the select of the color with the keyboard in the first time, but I thought that wheel was better. I will let the two possibility.
For the typography, well, I suppose I was a bit lazy... ^^' I will update that soon.
Finally -- a TD without possibility to sell (or destroy) a tower. A very uninspired game to say at least. All the towers attack in the same way (only range/speed/damage are different), there are no special abilities or something. All the enemies attack in the same way -- there are no bosses, armor, speed or anything. Your level don't give you anything except 1% more money on the start per level. Passable graphics, but the game mechanics is horrible -- lack of balance and polish in the TD that is _so_ generic is not acceptable. Wasted opportunity. 2/5.
