I agree with Fofferstan, maybe at the start of the mission have an allocation screen or something so you get to choose which weapons to outfit your planes with. It is already well balanced though, so maybe just keep it the way it is.
I like this concept and I'd like to see the end-result of this project :) you probably already know this, but a way to simulate the rotation more realistically is to include the car's current speed in how fast the car rotates. Maybe something like:
Car.rotation += CAR_ROTATE_SPEED * (Key.IsPressed(RIGHT) - Key.IsPressed(LEFT))
If you'd rather stick with your arcadey steering that's cool too, just an alternative if you feel like it.
yeah I liked the graphics you've put together :) you know the flame only reflects in the x direction, so you can still shoot through things from the bottom and the top :/ but I'd like to see a game with this kind of effect in it. I also like the minamalist art - it goes well with the flame effect
why does it show "Game over" when you collect enough of the apples the man in the helicopter is throwing to you? And why are you throwing him oranges back? Is it like some kind of fly-by market place?

lol I completed the first level, then it told me I had won up to level 239 :/ Next level was filled with boxhead zombies and was nearly impossible with my weapon selection, but gave good money :)
Hey it's a really good game so far :) I love the style of the graphics.
Maybe you could make the health texts unselectable so that the cursor doesn't change to an I-cursor when you move over them? lol if that's all I can complain about then you must be doing a good job :D nice one
