There is absolutely no point to having a turn where both players miss, its extremely frustrating. If you have the program check to see if your selected attack and your opponents next attack are both going to miss, then before the turn executes recalculate whether or whether not each attack will hit. So just loop until its either one or both characters landing a hit, it will speed up the drawn out battle scenes a lot. Just a suggestion I understand that I dont know your code so this could be an easy fix, so therefore a helpful comment, or it could be ridiculous in context and therefore annoying and unhelpful(If the latter, I'm sorry).
