You are right that it is a valid argument, but it is not a sound one. In order for an argument to be sound, the first premise must be true. Provided that Protagoras' relativism is incorrect, your argument is not sound at all. An example of a valid argument is: The moon is made of cheese, the subsequent clause, being: Therefore, if I fly to the moon, I can take cheese from it. Nevertheless, perhaps the sine qua non issue of this argument is that the moon is not really made of cheese. It is really interesting, seeing how vital the use of language is in the use of an argument. I recommend you read into Ludwig Wittgenstein's everyday language argument, it displays a fascinating perspective on the use of language.
