Is there any advantage to leaving a area unlocked via keys? I'm already getting the chests for the area so I might as well unlock it and burn it down to use for space. Waiting for my next energy event to pop all my chests again. Almost 70 rn. And even though plant bags don't give a ton of energy I have been waiting on them too.
I said it before and I am saying it again now: That pop-up guy saying "OI! You get 2 for merging 5" sucks. I am merging a pile of over 30 coins and every time I move a coin over the big lot of them it pops up blocking my view of where I can safely drop one at. This is ABSOLUTELY the most annoying thing for me in the game. If it was accurate: Your merging 17 so you get 8 or Your merging 55 so you get 26 that would be forgivable but this is not the case. Bloody annoying!
Okay so this update has been a long time coming I feel like the Dev left us stranded for a bit. I'm cool with that. At this point I don't even know if I will touch the event islands - I already have more than enough to fill my time each day with my primary island. It is nice to see a update but that brings me to the issues I am having now. I like to see the amount I'd get from merging pop-up but not when it will not go away without refreshing the page. (or is it supposed to sit on screen blocking the game area for over 45-60 seconds? maybe if I wait longer next time lol)
I saw someone post on the wiki if anyone was contributing to it anymore. I'd like to contribute but I want to post particulars - i.e. where to get the flowers from each crop recycle, chest locations with their items inside based off squares. If I knew we could post this info to the wiki and it won't rustle anyones jimmys then I will do it.
Left island, (Sapphire Cyclops area), the one with the water squares in the middle (kinda) of it. It is 6 squares together 3x2 then a single square in the 3rd row by itself in the middle. You want the top row of three and you want the square immediately to the right of the top 3 and open your chests there. Energy chest and Tentacle event at the same time with about 40 hours of cross over time. This is literally my dream - I just made up 40k keys so spending 10k during the event to get those nice shiny chests is perfect. And by the end of this I will have enough gems to merge a max gem pile for 1620 and that will get me my last gem island to buy. The game was so slow till I hit about level 15-16ish and really had the area open to start playing around. Now its like a race to the finish.
For the first time I finished a seasonal merge to the grill. I got a rainbow potion and now it gives me some energy every couple hours. It was a pain in the arse but I guess worth it.
@Totherz What egg do you mean? Are you talking Special Egg in a event because I haven't seen a event in weeks. If it is a Egg to unlock a hero then by all means merge away - but it is better in general to wait to merge as many things as possible at once.

When I first started I hated the tentacle event. Now I look forward to that sucker and blowing 10k keys - I just unlocked another hero today and it felt like it went pretty fast. Two tentacle events were all it took and a pile of keys.
Just make sure you get the right square and you always move the plant there to the flower generating square. If you recycle a plant then move it to that square it won't yield the same results.
What I did (and this probably isn't optimal) I tried to split my space about 20/80 chests to everything else. The first two area you work to unlock are by far the fastest to do. I would suggest as you get the space to start saving gems. Even if your always merging them together to save space in the beginning once you unlock a extra area with them it really makes a huge difference.
@Pjobooklover, --- https://ibb.co/RhhK5cm --- I took a screenshot for you and anyone interested. Certain squares always yield certain results. You HAVE to put the plant in the square surrounded by flowers. It HAS to be there before you recycle it. If it is not in this spot and you move it there after recycling it you will not get the results in my experiments. That square will always yield some plants, 2 copper and a flower. If anyone is interested you can PM me and I will add some more uploads of squares that yield goodies also. One square I use has 2 gems plus a gem pile each chest I open.
@Pjobooklover If you look at the map on the opening island there is a small wooden looking object on the edge of it, upper right side. It looks like it is between two squares. If I go in 3 squares and then move up one, when I recycle plants I get a flower every time. Next time I recycle my plants I will try to remember to screen shot the spot. I open my chests in the same spot too similar to the plant thing. (sorry I have had a bit to drink rn).
Try to knock out as many of the big squid at max rewards as you can. They will drop items to unlock your next tavern hero and lastly a fully upgraded gold chest (with the stupid event items like a bucket or easter egg) but they imprtantly will drop gems. Again wait till a energy event and open all your gold chests from squid event on the square that you'll aways get gems from.I found one that gives me 3 single gems and a single gem pile. Really really helps a lot.
@aaaa1234321 Good job!!! Congrats!!! I'm moving at decent pace now. I have a surplus of energy and coins and saving every chest till energy events is a huge boost. I can't stress that enough. I saw a post a long while ago that said when you start out you have to make sacrififces. Once you get that first big gem and get some extra spaces life gets easier. I cant also stress enough find a square to recycle your plants on that gives you a flower each time. Same for chests - find a square that gives you gems and a potion at least each time you open it there and you'll be moving along with good speed soon. I tend to horde my rainbow potions but they are a good investment when you get near a max coin or gem. As far as keys try to build up a supply of them for when the squid event comes up.
@FearlessDecoy I'm pretty bummed about no event but I just feel like I'm far enough it actually is part of my day now lol. This and NGU Idle, Idle Champs Forgotten Realms, and IOUrpg. I actually finished NGUIdle a long time ago but I still like to collect cards in it.
Last time i had 86 chests I think for the enrgy event. I'm already at 32 rn - a dozen gold chests from the tentacle event - lots of rubies in those (I have a spot I open my chests only and usually yield 2 singles and 2 3 piece piles. Good gains imo. I just wonder how long it will take to get my next energy event? I don't want to open a darn thing unless i'm gaining more. Sitting at 4k+ energy and going to blow some on the winter monster now.
