Pros: art, gameplay, sound/music, story. Cons: randomness / card draw, not being able to re-roll hands at beginning of a battle, lack of hotkeys. Overall, amazing game that should be a title on it's own (ie. sell it on Steam).
Would be nice if the game auto-saved in-between waves or allow you to 'save+exit' so you don't need to redo a whole map if you need to leave. Also, did you steal kingdom rushes ui/code? The game is so similar it makes one wonder.
4HP: if you click the text above the buy button that says how many units you need, it will automatically fill the 1st buy button with that amount. This works on several areas of the game, ie. clone larvae; twin cloning; etc.
Zombie Knight. Get +x SP on crit hit. Get +x crit chance gear. Get x% chance of +xxx% damage. Invest mostly in Vit, some in Str. Run around, gather all the mobs, spam spacebar, lag a lot, win the game. More fun if you get freeze set.
Over 9000: Every proc ability (stun, poison, freeze, etc.) activates when an enemy takes damage from your ZK's field.
Tips for normal/vet mode: Spam crossbow tower with 1pt barrage, most maps can be won with this tower. Some maps work well with Daarp with 1-3pt in furnace blast especially ones where you have to deal with lots of summons. Tribal with weakness totem is amazing with crossbow spam: high hp mobs die very quickly. You can win most vet maps without any barracks just using high dps towers and reinforcements.
I would love to see the rally point 'stick' to the maximum range if the mouse cursor is outside this range. Also a cooldown timer on abilities or at least a piece of text telling how long a cooldown is. Ie. Axe towers, how long are the towers on cooldown? A feature I like from other TD is telling turrets which targets to prioritize. Ie. "closest to end", "armoured", "high hp", "low hp", etc.
Nice game, grind at end ruins the 'endless mode'. Would be cool to have a new game+ where you keep your old upgrades but reset the quests and increase the gold gain but also make the mobs harder.
World 1-2: focus on melee units and level-up mana/food regen, also get max food upgrades. Save gold for next tier unit. World 3-4 focus on upgraded ranged units (rabbit, monkey) and the turtle. World 5 is a mix, I won by using archer+monkey+turtle and the instant kill wand. If you get the mana regen, spell cost reduction perks you can spam food wand to get dragon early on. If you go rabbit heavy, you can spam food wand and archer non-stop. Make sure they are in your aura. I beat the last level with about 60 archers, 2 ice and 10 turtles using this tactic.
20/20 archer, turtle, +food regen ring x2, wands: heal/food/3hit. Level-up get +mana regen. Summon turtle and as many archers as you can, spam 3hit. Own everything.
Was enjoying the game until my save became corrupt and wouldn't load. I like the metroid-vania feel, but the map needs improvement to show areas that you've actually been too, not just explored. The level system is redundant and needs something like a talent tree or ways to upgrade your abilities via leveling.
All completion: +2 stars from clicking the top drop down at the top of map screen. Distribute points equally across all skills when attempting bonus levels (to maximize efficiency). Best defense (imo) is archer(ranger), melee(holy), mage(sorcerer) and a bunch of cannons (500mm). On levels with a boss, replace cannons with musketeer with a single sniper shot upgrade to begin with.
Feedback: Enjoyed the game. Need a 'sell all not equiped' in shops (selling marked junk is too micromanaged). Need to be able to hide the 'side menu' so you don't click on them. A zone map would be cool or be able to zoom out on the minimap. A neat feature would be able to choose your companion (next chapter).
Pretty fun except for two things: the text sound is fairly annoying, and the dialog; some times you just don't want to click 10x through a screen. So: 1) Way to mute the dialog sound fx' and/or 2) 'Turn off RP mode (no dialog at all)'.
Chapter 2: fighters, depots, energy; aim for 3 fighter prod, and 1 energy prod then upgrade your basic fighter.
Chapter 3: You can now infect others, but the turrets are fairly useless. Again use the same strat as above. 3.4 you'll want to place turrets infront of your base to absorb the missile fire; with ~20 fighters you'll survive to make a cruiser.
Other notes: repair stations not very useful, too low hp, only buy to maintain a turret wall. Fusion+gauss is a good defense, easy to mass up gauss turrets. You can pause and build, pause button upper-left.
Some tips for the hard badge: 1) Recruit as many people as you can. Scavenge as much as you can (until you get enough farms and weapons). 2) Secure police stations and fortify shopping malls as top priority. 3) Focus on the zombie killing research - the 3rd tier gives you 100% defense bonus. 4) The city hall is the quickest way to win (imo) and will be found in one of the corners of the maps. Use scouts to quickly expand your vision and find/secure the city hall as soon as you can. You will still need to capture enough buildings to meet the objective. 5) Reclaim/move towards the corner the city hall is in. This will ensure that the zombie horde will only attack you from 2 sides instead of 4, and give you more focus on what land to reclaim. 6) By mid game you should aim for 5 teams: 1 recruiting team, 2 kill teams, 1 scavenging team (for weapons/tools), 1 quick reclaim team (1 turn reclaims). 7) Events to avoid: preaching in the church by the chosen ones, the mad scientist.
It's been on Steam :P
