We ALL happened to put an effort in our entries. Do you actually think you should get a "more considerate" rating just because you whined about it in your description? Please, no. That said, it feels slightly cramped because of the nearly square screen area, and the level doesn't reset on game over.
I like it, I don't get why people compare it to g-virus. This one has solid gameplay, even if it's a bit easy. I think speed modifications would do more for the difficulty than traditional health boosts. Oh, and the menu on the right (score, money etc.) doesn't hide itself when I go to the main menu after beating the game, and the instructions say "Arrow keys to switch through already purchased weapons", you may want to fix that.
I still feel it's unfair he got all that extra publicity for just this one game, considering rate-and-leave accounts like brad_powell and bill_johnson and alfredo_pujol keep popping up...but whatever. This game has it's qualities, and could have earned a similar rating without the Norwegian blogohype.
I'm not too fond of the bullet-becomes-health mechanic, it makes for a proverbial Rock and a hard place situation with the boss. Specifically, it forces you to risk collision with the miniboss (certain death) or keep shaving your health to try and shoot it out of the way (certain death).
You die instantly if you touch a miniboss by mistake - kinda annoying if you're up front when it appears without warning. The movement feels a bit clunky imo. A more complex boss would be way better than just a double-boss. Oh, and you can shoot enemies before they even appear onscreen.
This game is sexy.
One little problem, though: some enemies spawn too low on the screen to hit them with the cannon. Aside from that, it's purely awesome.
If you wanted opinions about a game idea, you can post it in the forums. If you really wanted to show people using a Flash anim, you can upload it to spamtheweb.com and post a link. Why? Because this isn't a GAME, it's an IDEA. That's like trying to sell a Monopoly manual without any board, pieces or monopoly-money.
It's a Shootorial game sans miniboss, scrolling background and bgm.
@Krayz
When a game has only 28 ratings so far, the rating is obviously skewed. Give it another 50 gameplays and it will go down. (Note the average rating isn't displayed officially because of this)
Needs a bit more refinement (come on, it's Rage *3* already.) The HUD is a bit larger than necessary, and not being able to change directions mid-combo can get annoying. BGM-only mute would be nice, too.
