g7, if it didn't cost energy to stay close then characters like helene and ashi could just hit close every turn and you could never get far against them AND they would be able to unload all their attacks on you repeatedly. it's a necessary part of the game.
Trixy, no, part of the point of ranked matches is that you have to prove your skill against all comers instead of farming ranking points by beating up newbies. If that's too tough you should use quickmatch or just host your own games.
Yekno: That would up the luck factor in a very bad way.
Xavier: The creator was in chat the other day, and one suggestion that came up was maybe giving a card per level on top of the 2% thing.
killpoo, to be fair, if it really was happening half the time then it would probably be more likely that the RNG is broken than that people are just getting that unlucky. I just don't think there are as many anomalies as people are claiming.
broccoli: If on the other hand missing is something you can reliably predict then you may have a bug, please document the conditions under which you can predict a miss and then send a bug report.
I doubt that many people have missed 5x in a row. People have a tendency to exaggerate their bad beats; I've seen just as many complaints in games known to be fair. Also, it's not enough to point to the number of games played because you attack more than 5 times in most games.
So, if I kill your Tafari after he poisons me, should the poison come off? Hell, how about I get back all the damage your character dealt after I killed it, that's obviously the way to go right? Because obviously it's ridiculous that if someone hits you with an 80 energy, 4 speed, close only attack that it should actually deal its damage...
People complaining about switching need to learn to play. People complaining about Shield Bash need to learn to play. HINT: Don't use your biggest, most expensive attack every time if it would leave you too low on energy and you suspect a switch is coming. Learn how to suspect when a switch is coming so you can intercept more.
PlayerZ: The designer has come up with a "stalemate rule" that makes range-changing free after a certain number of turns with no action, it's just not programmed in yet.
Ericzorz: In the situation Z described, no one will ever go close because it's a stupid thing to do. Whoever goes close will have 50 energy against the other's 100, so it's in both characters' best interest to just stay at far and not do any damage. =/
