I'm not going to rate this game.
Some things are just FAR too timing based (giving the player a 0.1 second to click on a specific thing they won't notice the first 5 times is only reason for annoyance) and some things are just too illogical (ok, I've thrown the baddie into a pit of spikes... what now? I can only jump into the spikes myself to die, yay! <.<)
Too stressful, add another 5 seconds to the timer so people won't have to restart the same level 5 times (before the odd shapes) EACH level due to clicking one time too many on a single block or a similar small detail gone wrong because you're STRESSED by the game.
Counter intiutive or just starts out far, far too hard really...
Starts far too slow, requires far too much luck and angry spacebar bashing to be worth anything...
Like Dakohawk I wish this were a 'clone' of "launch something into space with random rocket upgrades" as those typically are somewhere between 5 and 300 times more fun than completely wrecking your spacebar hoping that when you have all upgrades you should easily be able to make it past the 150m mark.
I have all upgrades but haven't even passed 120! My best is at 117.3 which I got BEFORE I had full upgrades! Freakin' take a look at the amount of luck required to WIN your game before calling it a day and uploading it >.<
How the camera is locked with the 'frog'/ball being about 25% in the left side of the screen really seriously messes with at least one level I've played (and refused to continue to try).
Some of the jumps are hard enough on their own when the platforms have their own momentum so you gotta follow them but making people move BACKWARDS against TWO enemies that move back and forth... is just sadistic without check points <.<
Decent idea but the propeller hat is far far too difficult to properly use, especially with how the character wabbles back and forth so it doesn't fly straight up or ahead meaning you waste about half your energy just getting it to go straight. After that you really don't have a lot left for ANYTHING.
Grappling hook is a fine idea too but difficult to control as well.
Overall: Improve the controls and make the darn propeller last longer!
The first level with the green ventilator thing is faaaaaaaaar too based on pixel perfect precision with placing your things. It isn't explained and I can make the purple one work but not the orange one, not even if I try to do it like the darned walkthrough did it!
3/5 for a good, relaxed game with a single level that just blew my mind in how difficult it is. At least have some explanation for the vent thing, I still don't get how it works >.<
There's a walkthrough, great!
If only it were worth ANYTHING because I've tried doing exactly what it did (before checking it actually) and only had my ass handed to me... on level 7!
It's far too luck based because whoever happen to control the most ressource gain with a possibility to funnel the enemy into a single or only 2 exits win, it's a matter of time then.
On the other hand being too aggressive to lock the enemy in will only mean that you waste your forces while he somehow manages to build up more than you (because it's a computer it can auto send etc with a single 'click').
Not original but not a bad idea... still it has far too many raw flaws that make it more tedious than challenging!
Is it just me or does Baal absorb melee attacks on epic? Basically meaning the only way to kill him is using sky dragon/angel and non-melee attack units? But how? Your mana won't last for trying to keep shield up throughout the fight and once it's off for a moment when he strikes, your troops die if they're at a bit of range!
Seriously... my Lord of Fire seems to be freaking HEALING him >.<
Consider making the clues a bit more obvious (just a bit, not a whole lot).
The difficulty shouldn't be SOLELY on how many Y or Ns you have to put in but also how hard it is to find out where the Ys are supposed to be.
And as has been mentioned: The "Check answer" button does not check your answer for whether it's correct, only if you got enough Ys per box.
Overall a decent game, too boring for its length and far far too frustrating due to unnatural mechanics for its own good. I got no idea how I managed to force myself through like 22 levels or so before deciding this just ain't worth my time :\
Few problems with this game:
1) Despite upgrades it becomes boring VERY fast. There's extremely little variation in the levels and the upgrades only make existing things better.
2) Fireworks, oil drums and diagonal squares make some levels require that you either go to them STRAIGHT AWAY or run the level through like 5 times to get all the fires that spread >.<
3) The fire mechanic should be improved and more like real life physics in regards to fire. A rule of thumb for that: Fire spreads upwards with 1 meter per second, sideways at 1 meter per minute and downward at 1 meter per hour. You cant make it so the fire spreads downward more rapidly than upward. Fire is heat and heat prefers to be above cold! Learn your physics and redo the engine for that >.<
The fact that time carries over from level to level is annoying since it's a question of how many level you can get through contra how many pipes per level you can get and not "can you complete this level" type of scenario.
Some people like those, I'm not one of them.
I do like the fact that there are special pipes added but that you're, in some levels, forced to more or less rebuild your entire pipline just to get around a SINGLE blocked pipe is annoying as hell!
Some of the levels are nothing short of extreeeeeeeeeemely tedious so I quit on the level with 4 ghosts flying across the screen, one volcano jump from the start and 1 flail in the end... just can't make that second jump >.<
OK game, too luck based with the random jump thing and brings nothing new to this type of game.
Also I had a bug on level 2 after 2 rock monsters crashed where I couldn't do anything to move or use quake/jump so I had to refresh the page.
3/5 for OK execution with a single really annoying bug and too much reliance on luck.
Decent game and I prefer these graphics to those of Red Remover actually.
Nothing much in it besides a well polished basic idea of the game. Would be nice if you had added something more, like Red Remover has par scores for example :)
