Found a bug: If you use speed boost at the very end of the level, the timer extends to the start of the next level. So, if you are having trouble with a level, do a easy level first, use the boost at the very end (just as the last turtle gets eaten), then start the hard level. You basically get an extra use of the boost.
I dislike how this game took out the usually -1 penalty for teamkilling. It is now an effective strategy to kill your teammates whenever they are at low health.
I really like how in the compromise ending, when you talk to your wife, you see glimpses of the other two endings. It's a really nice touch. First time I finished, it was this ending, and I didn't fully comprehend the meaning; it was only after I completed the other two endings that I understood the significance of it.
@slambiru: Golds don't count as extra. Basically, it means that if you get gold, the bronze is still there, not lost.
@bryse0719: The innocent villagers you are attacking, of course.
I find it annoying that if you die, the level you are on/enemies you are fighting just... disappear. And you never get the opportunity to fight them again. I would prefer to see checkpoints, maybe every 10% of the game, rather then just starting at the _next_ level when you die.
Oh yeah, note: slight exception to the rule-of-thumb of whoever-has-the-highest-product-of-stats-wins. There may be slight errors, since it isn't fully precise (damage isn't constant, it's periodic). You still can't ever lose to someone of your level. You'll also win some times when you won't expect to (65/7/7 vs 70/7/7), since your counter runs infinitesimally faster than your opponent's does, so you hit first if you have the same speed.
If you do this, it can be mathematically shown that you will never lose to an opponent of the same level, and will level up at slightly faster than 2 battles per level (you get 100 n + 200 xp for beating someone of your level twice, and you need 100 n + 100 xp to level up).
Did some calculations on the game. It appears that a win is 50n + 100 xp (where n = level of opponent), and a loss is 10 xp. The game is also always won by whoever has the highest product of stats. Thus, when you level up, upgrade your lowest stat (divide blood by 10 for this), to maximum your chances of winning.
@ClayMeow: Actually, one of the platinum trophies is, "Get all gold trophies". Therefore, if you don't have all the gold trophies, you can't get all the platinum trophies.
@Schwazi: What happened was that the portal led to another world (presumably Earth), where there is no magic. The Necronator was forced to find some other way of gaining world domination, becoming a scientist and creating a virus that turns people to zombies (thus leading up to Infectonator, another game by the same creator).
@raccoonrun: What's the point of a multiplayer, when there's team share/scrimmage? It's not like you can control the units, or that there's a reward for winning.
Chaos Desert mages are the best, in my opinion. You can play as them, and easily never risk losing a battle (other than tutorial + assassinate attempt). AB will give you a bolt advantage, which is essential for later battles when both mages usually have same number of bolts, resulting in a standoff. B (Burning) is almost always an auto-win, especially when combined with maxed AB. Most battles later on, you won't ever lose more than 50 health, and need only about 500 mana. Just use all your abilities, every round that you can.
My favorite special item is the Voodoo Doll. I killed the Wizard w/o taking any damage by using Voodoo Doll turn 1, then Rage/Critical/Speedy twice in a row. Did the same thing w/ the snake - Turn 2 win.
