There is no wrong way to play the game. From a scoring point of view, 1 fastest time, 2 longest survival time and 3 challenges are the easiest to directly compare with other players. That is why posts about those are the most often seen here in the comments section. Bozotic and NeathanF, I wish you well. Any fellow Odin City traveller is appreciated.

Having cleared most of the time comments for 2016...Do many of you go back and read comments from more than a few weeks ago? And for those who do, what are you looking for?
Also, the longer the time to the first spore attack, the more spores will come. So if the first spore attack is 7 minutes in, there will be a LOT of spores. If the first spore attack is 3 minutes in, you will get 2 spores.

Balbanes: Why is there a need for a screenshot? Is it for verification? So far I have posted 19 screenshots and/or tutorials on my website. hawk45 and carusoo have also posted many screenshots. Over time, people develop their own reputations. I believe any time posted by hawk45, carusoo, iMiPi, RealOldman and a few others who don't post as often. I also believe that MTargaryen is a troll. iMiPi has actually posted several videos, although he hasn't posted in a while. iMiPi has actually also posted the mathematical basis for why he did things a certain way. As far as too many time comments, I guess that's a matter of opinion. I wish you well.
Well done Dilaria. I took the challenge and also was able to beat 7/27 without moving the base. This game can be played with several different goals possible.
@ Balbanes I understand now. In all honesty, my method didn't work for me every time either. I was about 1 out of 5. However, if you make a SAM instead of the 2nd blaster and just float the SAM you should be able to do the puzzle in well under 2:50 as carusoo did. He got a 2:36 and I got a 2:42 using the single blaster and SAM method. Try to stagger your build order so that the energy deficit is minimized. That's my biggest problem compared to the top tier players. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
This game does indeed have a lot of secrets (some good, mostly bad). It is part of the learning of the game. All of us are still learning at every level. Good luck on the journey.
It's true that the comments are mostly about times, screenshots and strategies or MTarganyen's troll comments. I went back 2 weeks and found that there would have been a total of about 4 or 5 comments (2 of which were questions answered by the speedsters). The comments section would pretty much be a ghost town without the speed rivalries and screenshot URLs. What comments are we keeping from being made or sending to the 2nd page by our posting? Thanks for your inputs. It is nice to see other comments. And you are certainly a regular to this amazing game.
6/21 - 2:08 @iMiPi I always thought of the Mortars and Drones as Volume removers (with potential maximums) and the Blasters as Area removers. Of course, I have not put in the math time as you have. Sort of (Blasters = 1 layer, Mortars = 2 layers, Drones = 3 layers) with a corresponding area at the top level of creeper. Not that this helps with my slower times on the more difficult puzzles.
There are many ways to play the game. None of them are bad. There is a triumphant moment when you cap all the emitters, that is understood. Just remember, when we leave, the creeper covers the map. Whether survival mode or just linking the totems, the creeper always wins. Enjoy the moments the creeper gives to us. It's all good.
@Tandu: You can just play the game with the variation you described. You don't need an option to play without floating structures. If you'd like to, just post your time and add something like (NFS) for No Floating Structures.
I forgot to ask Balbanes... Is it acceptable to move Odin City and/or land Odin City in the creeper where it takes damage, but links to a totem? Thanks.
Balkans: SMB is MTargaryen being a troll and making light of a few of our shortcuts (FTP = fastest possible time, RFI = room for improvement). The beauty of this game is that it can be played in so many ways. Sadly, the only measures easy to compare are Fastest Time and Longest Survival Time. Many play variations such as Only Mortars, Late Start, Only Blasters, Cap All Emitters First. As in any war, the idea of getting out the quickest with the least fighting appeals to most commanders. In the end, the creeper always covers the planet when we leave. What criteria do you use to show REAL skill? No floating turrets? Cap all emitters? Just wondering. It's all good.
