(I CAN HAZ LAZANNEA?*spoilers*) Also, one more thing; That earpiece is like some matrix machine that can create any simulations, so does that mean that even if Todd had somehow made certain decisions he never could have gotten anywhere without the help of himself... I mean, Future Todd couldn't ever have lived a normal life, as we saw with the fact that Todd had to have at least some help from Future Todd... Although you might have never thought about it...
Finally, this is one bang-up site you have Greg...
(spoilers) The simulation is never explicitly explained, but I imagined it to be like a Matrix/Star Trek holodeck sort or thing, where it's a simulated world but things/people can still be damaged and hurt. Future Todd's time line is the only "real" one, so in that sense he wasn't really able to redeem himself. The story is more about Past Todd learning about a lurking darkness within himself, and mustering up the courage to fight back and choose a different life path. It's already too late for Future Todd, though. :(
(MOAR SPOILERS) Though some of the things don't make sense, like with ending 21. Why would Future Todd allow Todd to take his place in the future if he won't be able to live in the body anymore? Unless there is something in it for him? Besides that, I really liked the story, and, after finally getting ending 29, completing my collection of endings, I completely understand future Todd's timeline... Pretty sick on most accounts... (If I'm right, the reason the ring in Future Todd's pocket didn't fit was because it was Clint's severed finger however much time before?)
(spoilers) The idea with ending #21 is that it takes place very early in Future Todd's time line when he still hasn't committed to going through with his plan and there's a small part of his conscience that knows he should stop himself during his brief moment of realization. It's kind of cheesy but that's what I was going for. Future Todd cuts off Clint's ring finger as a symbolic gesture against his marriage to Angela.
(HERP DERP SPOILERS) The moral of the story is, if you don't make any interactions with people in high school you'll end up becoming an obsessive creepy old guy. Also, if you ever find your future self punch them in the nose and steal their earpiece. Good pointers.
I would really, truly love to see more games like this, it was pretty damn awesome... A full blown game, a sequel, would be awesome, I feel like the 48 hours constrained you, no shit, and the game could be much longer... This is the type of game that I'd like to make, if I ever learn how to code in flash beyond making a chess game... 5/5
