:| I initially gave the game 5/5 as I like its minimalistic concept and I love logic games. But then I hit a wall of not being able to go back to the main menu and wondering if I'm doing something wrong I refreshed the page and... I need to start everything over again from level 1 because the game doesn't save progress... Lowering the score to 2/5, sorry.
I had a bug but only once. I wasn't able to replicate it again. When I started the game the character was constantly asking "Where is Squee?". I needed to refresh the site and load the game again and everything was fine.
I have another complaint regarding controls. I might be wrong but I had this feeling that when the character starts to fall, the acceleration of falling is too high. I mean, the characters falls too fast. Although I finished the game I was not confident in jumping->falling at all and, therefore, I was "afraid" of the latter. If the speed of falling was always the same it might have been easier to control the character in the air.
I've seen a similar game in the past. One advice in terms of controls: please check what happens when a user keeps their LMB clicked and move a cursor around. I'd like to play this way instead of needing to constantly click around. Unfortunately, it's impossible now: 1. the game loses track of whether the hovered tile is next to the previous one or not and if not, it resets the whole progress done in the level. 2. there is no way of going back using this method of control. To resolve 1., follow DCarrier feedback on the normal clicking controls and in terms of my proposal - it'll be the easiest way even on the controls I suggest. To resolve 2., keep track of order the tiles are selected (use a queue/table/list/other kind of structure) and if a user clicks already selected tile, unselect the tiles after the tile in the queue.
Thank you for creating the game. Honestly, I prefer graphic style from the previous game - the Blob looked more on fire there. Music is also worse - makes me nauseous after a short while - previous was, again, better.
I am charmed by the graphic, music and simple plot which gives purpose to push forward.
"Wrongs": too short and without many mechanics.
I'd like to see an expanded sequel in a similar theme. Potential idea: "The Goodest Boy and Girl" where the dog and a cat that live together but hate each other are put in a dangerous situation so they have to work together to come back home - it either could be a single player with switching players by a single button or a coop.
Ravensvoice - is it strange really? It works titally fine since you can't warp via the red elements. When you're in the element when you warp, you're being killed instantly.
Other small bugs found:
1. Some level 1 (or 2) bodies have a collision detection turned on and others don't which doesn't make sense.
2. If you die pressing left/right button when you're revived the embryo has the movement animation turned on but it doesn't move.
3. Why in some levels pressing the yellow button and dying leaves the button turned on and on others turned off? Unify the behaviour on each level so a player knows what to expect.
I'm not sure whether this game is difficult or buged/badly designed.
Things needing modification/correction/changes:
1. Hitboxes are irrational! You don't need to touch spikes to be killed. It's so frustrating!
2. It seems as if the embryo is snapped to spikes sometimes. What is going on?!
3. Jumping is also done badly. Right now, no matter how long you press jump button you always jump the same height. It makes the game so difficult sometimes or you waste your time waiting until you slide on walls to the proper height to be able to jump. Jump height should correspond to the time you press the jump button. You want to jump high, press the button longer. Lower? "Sure; just press it for a shorter period of time".
Game is very interesting and give satisfaction bitting levels but..
What should be made (imo):
-jumping level menu is not a good idea IMO
-to make gameplay more fun, challenging harder lasers should gone in different moments (u can make different colors to different laser times)
-achievements should gone in couple of seconds automaticly to not grabbing mouse to hand :)
-"lector" should say something funny about mines and jump button to inform player about them in first moment
-in level when "lector" is gone screen is too small and u cant see it all from bottom to top
-there should be Pause button (hot key P) and hot key R - restart and hot key M - mute
Some bugs which i found and some ideas from me:
IDEAS:
- like Chaos1984 said - give time limit to click
- give best score list which will include how many players played in game with this score
- let play more than 4 players in same time (5-6)
BUGS:
- sometimes when some players enter game they arent in game and only COMPUTER play with himself
- i didnt write anything but someone wrote in my name (dont know how)
- sometimes one players get yellow-changing-color (got all players color for some time), in this case game continue even if NOT ALL PLAYERS click on screen but only some.
Thats all for now. Please repair this bugs - they are enojing (especially 1 and 3).
I decreased the falling acceleration of the character. Should be better now. Thanks for the feedback
