It seems like a well designed game, but for whatever reason my flash player (yes its up to date) refuses to handle it and it is crippled by lag. SO its unplayable which sucks.
For anyone doing the BOTD, this is a continuation of another game (Creeper World Training Sim). There is no tutorial since this is essentially just procedurally generated levels. So unfortunately the only tutorials I can offer are to play that other game, or look up stuff on Youtube or something.
Amazing game. That moment when you don't see a specific enemy type for awhile, and then it comes in an apocalyptic wave and you panic but its still okay because your guns have been upgraded always got me laughing.
Dec. 09, 2011 Badge Guide: Day 1 - Max out Trans+Engine+Tires and spend the rest on fuel. Hold down the Only take your foot off the accelerator if you're going to be off the ground for more than about half a second. Try and keep your wheels parallel to the ground. You should get around 730 ft. Day 2 - Max out fuel, get the autogun and as much ammunition as you can afford. Do the same as before. When you reach the final hill, it's broken into three slopes. You should be able to get part way up the third. If not, restart and try again. Day 3 - Put everything into Boost. Do the same as the previous day, and when you hit the the third slope of the hill, hold boost and fly over the barrels. Don't bother voting up, just repost. Credit for this goes to razzfallow, this is how I got the hard badge.
The search mechanic has bad math. The first number is the chance of NOT being spotted. And the chance to survive is PER member. So if you have 6 members and the maxed 85% chance of survival, you will still almost always lose someone. This snuck up on me and after the first search area I had an almost perfect base. Then I lost 4 people in one search.
To keep searchers alive send only like 2, with good weapon skills. Or 1 at a time. Sure you won't find anything, but at least you'll check off all the areas so you can advance and you won't lose everyone all at once.
A hint for anyone having difficulty with the last level. If you time your YeeHaw abilities you can kill enough zombies with them to recharge your YeeHaw completely. Use this to buy yourself the time needed to tech up to Trucks. Like 3 trucks and a preacher is invincible basically. But anything less than trucks will just die eventually.
I think my favorite part of the game is the way the missles tumble. Late game when you are basically able to fire anywhere and hit a half dozen missles those tumblers are just beautiful to watch
Its a good game, but just as some honest feed back it just doesn't feel like a "Learn to Fly" Game. It just feels like a generic space launcher. It kept the animation, but all the fun little things that made it unique are gone mostly.
